Morning Coffee Revisited 10/11/14 Why Are You Listening To The People? (Are They God?)

cropped-mc.png

“Then Saul admitted to Samuel, “Yes, I have sinned. I have disobeyed your instructions and the  lord ’s command, for I was afraid of the people and did what they demanded.  But now, please forgive my sin and come back with me so that I may worship the lord .” But Samuel replied, “I will not go back with you! Since you have rejected the lord ’s command, he has rejected you as king of Israel.” As Samuel turned to go, Saul tried to hold him back and tore the hem of his robe.  And Samuel said to him, “The  lord  has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to someone else—one who is better than you.  And he who is the Glory of Israel will not lie, nor will he change his mind, for he is not human that he should change his mind!” Then Saul pleaded again, “I know I have sinned. But please, at least honor me before the elders of my people and before Israel by coming back with me so that I may worship the lord your God.”  So Samuel finally agreed and went back with him, and Saul worshiped the lord. (1 Samuel 15:24-31 NLT)

Good Morning or afternoon or what time of day you are reading this! We are back in 1 Samuel 15 Saul Has just confessed his sin and now he is beginning to reap the consequences.

Saul valued the opinions of the people more than he valued God’s commands. Saul did not completely destroy the Amalekites as he was instructed to do. He keep the best spoils and spared king Agag. Because of his disobedience Saul lost his anointing as king God had choose another.

Saul said he was afraid of the people, why fear them and do what they demand, are they God? When God gives you specific instructions, you carry them out to the finest detail! Pay no mind to anyone that tells you anything contrary to what God told you to do! We sometimes put way to much value in people,

We can be on the right track, doing what God told us to do. And people will say “no do it this way” at that moment we need to disregard what they are saying and continue with what God told us to do. People are not God, we should never fear or respect anyone more than God.

Disobedience to God is costly, in saul’s case it cost his his anointing as king. He put the people above God and he reaped the consequences! Don’t fear and respect anyone more than you fear and respect God. Why Are You Listening To The People? Are They God?

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee Revisited 3/1/15 God Don’t Owe You! (We Are Not Entitled!)

mc

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 NLT)

Hello family! Have you ever done something God asked you to do then looked up to God and said, “I did my part! Where’s my blessing?” I have had that attitude a few times. I thought I was in the right. But I was truly wrong to think like this! Yes, God does bless us when we are obedient, but that does not mean He owes us! We owe Him obedience! We owe Him our lives! We surrender one Hundred percent of ourselves to Him. God gave His son as a sacrifice out of His love for us! He saw how messed up and jacked up we were! He saved us! We can’t save ourselves! We owe God! God does not owe us!

We Are Not Entitled!

Morning Coffee Revisited: 9/29/14 Addicted!

cropped-mc.png

Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.  Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given you.  Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living. (Romans 6:16-18 NLT)

Good day family I pray you are in good spirits.  Life can really beat us up. Situations and problems arise that sometimes causes us to seek refuge and relief from other sources other than God. We can get addicted to these earthly sources of relief. For me it was pornography, for you it may be something else like food, drugs, TV.  Anything can become an addiction, it does not have to be the “big three” (sex, drugs, alcohol).

An addiction of this world can never be satisfied, its hunger will never stop. The more we feed the addiction the stronger it gets, It will pull us further and further away from the One we should be addicted to, and that is Jesus Christ. “Then God gave the people all these instructions: “I am the lord your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt, the place of your slavery. “You must not have any other god but me. (Exodus 20:3 NLT)

Anything that pulls us away from God is a sin. If we do not turn from it, it will lead to destruction. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23 NLT)

There is freedom from the addictions of this earthly life. Christ offers that freedom to us, He was crucified for our sins then three days later rose with all power so that we would not have to go to hell when we die. All we have to do is accept him as Lord of our life. . “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.  God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants. ” (John 3:16-21 NLT)

My friend Christ is knocking at the door of your heart. All you have to do is let him in. “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.  As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”    For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,  for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:9-13 NIV)

Come and pray with me even if you were once with Christ and strayed away. You can comeback. Just cry out to Jesus, you don’t need big words, just and open heart to let Christ in. Let’s pray. Lord I know I have sinned against you. I know you have died on the cross for my sins and rose again. I need you I’m sorry for sinning against you. Please Lord; forgive me I will follow all the days of my life in Jesus name Amen!

If you just prayed that prayer you are now a follower of Christ welcome to the family of God. If it was re dedication welcome back! I want to encourage you to find a bible based church. Talk to God he is listening, He hears you, He is now your addiction. Ask him to give you good Christian friends I warn you your old addiction will still try and rise up. You may stumble and fall but you get back up repent ask God to forgive you and turn back to God. Don’t go back to the places that trigger that addiction. Ask god to completely change your Habits, He has and is still doing it for me. So He will do it for you!

If you need prayer I am here leave a comment in the comments section or email me at morningcoffeedevo@gmail.com I will pray for you!

Morning Coffee Revisited: 3/2/15 Slow Fade (Climbing Out Is A Process)

mc

Morning Coffee 3/2/15 Slow Fade (Climbing Out Is A Process)

“Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.” (Psalm 119:105 NLT)

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” (Romans 12:2 NLT)

Hello family. People don’t end up at the bottom overnight it was a slow fade that began with one moment of compromise. More often than not, it is at our lowest point that we wonder how we got there. We look up and see God reaching down to help us up. He does not always give us an instant fix because He has some things He wants us to learn on our ascent.  Climbing out won’t be easy, but God is faithful He bought me out of my junk and he will bring you out of yours! It was a process becoming who I am today and I am still in that process!  Where ever you are in your life it’s a part of the process God has for you. If you’re in the valley stay strong and hold on. Soon you will be at the top of the mountain!!! If you are on the top of a mountain be careful, hold fast to God. Because that’s a long way to fall! And a long way to climb back up!!!!  That mountaintop is just a ledge in your life! You still have higher to climb. The climb will not end until we see Jesus face to face!

Do not let anything hinder your process! No Compromise!

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee Revisited 2/24/15 It’s Not Hard To Talk To God

mc

“O  lord, hear me as I pray; pay attention to my groaning. Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for I pray to no one but you.” (Psalm 5:1-2 NLT)

“I will praise you, lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High.” (Psalm 9:1-2 NLT)

“O  lord, why do you stand so far away? Why do you hide when I am in trouble?” (Psalm 10:1 NLT)

Hello family. King David talked to God a lot! We can see this from all the psalms he wrote. David didn’t just write these psalms because it sounded nice! No! He wrote from his heart, he wrote out of his emotion! There were times he wrote out of joy (Psalm 9), times he wrote out of distress (Psalm 10 and 5). These Psalms are direct communication with God. David let his emotion show, but he always did it with reverence to God.

If we are upset it is ok to let God know. If we are sad we are free to tell God. In our emotion, we must still reverence God. He is our father and he cares about all that affects us. God has his ear open listening for His children. Just as simply as a child calls on their earthly father, we too can call on God our heavenly Father.

It is not hard to talk to God.

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee Revisited 2/19/15 Are You Listening?

mc

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27 NLT)

Hello family. At the end of “In Transition Morning Coffee 2/17/15” I encouraged you to find a quiet spot and shut everything out and not say anything. In that quiet time, did you hear God speak to you? Did He share anything with you? Did you feel His peace? If yes great, if not you may have been distracted. There have been times God called me to sit quietly in His presence so he could speak with me. But I was distracted, I was distracted by video games, TV, thoughts in my head, the paint pattern on the ceiling! I would wonder why I didn’t hear God! It was because I was not listening! I was like a little kid watching TV while the parent is try to talk to them! The kid may say “okay” and “yes” to every question but they really didn’t hear their parent because they were distracted. So once again there will be no music to listen to. (If you did this the first time and heard God Do it again!) eliminate ALL possible distractions! If you have to get in a closet with the lights out and door shut. Get quiet and listen for God’s still small voice.

Are You Listening?

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee Revisited: 1/4/15 Your Sanctuary!

mc

“Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.” (Psalm 119:105 NLT)

Hello family! Where is your sanctuary? That place or activity that opens up communication between you and your heavenly father. For me it’s finding worship songs on YouTube getting, a cup of coffee opening my bible and computer and letting God lead me on a writing journey. Even after I am done writing I find myself lost deep in His presents. Every devotion that I have written to you, God allowed me to live it! When I am here in this awesome place, nothing else matters! It’s just me and my daddy! My ears are wide open to whatever He wants to say!

Go to your sanctuary and let Him speak to you!

Morning Coffee Revisited 2/2/15 Let Nothing Distract You!

mc

Hello family! We all have a purpose, a destiny that God has for us. From day one temptations and distractions will try and pull us off the track that God has on! There are gifts and talents that God has placed in you and they were placed in you for you to influence others! You may not feel like you are equipped to influence anybody. You may feel that you don’t have a story worthy to be told, you may be a shamed of it because you done some things you regret!

Let me tell you something, there is someone out there looking for hope! And God has choose you to be the one to give them hope! So don’t devalue yourself and settle for less! Don’t give in to those temptations they are nothing but bait to draw you off and stop you from becoming what God made you to be! You can’t give up! Because you have a purpose! You can’t be distracted because you have a Destiny!

“Your destiny! Is too important to give up for anything!”

Kevin Levar – Your Destiny

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT)

Morning Coffee Revisited: 2/11/15 Nothing To Fear!

mc

“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!” (Psalms 46:1-3 NLT)

Hello family! We really have nothing to fear. No matter what is going on in the world around us we don’t have anything to fear! Why? Because God has us in his hand. Ebola, ISIS, natural or manmade disasters or anything else is not bigger than our God! Know that whatever comes your way God has you in His hand. Just trust Him! He is the only constant in an ever changing world!

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee Revisited 10/4/14 In The Zone

“After the death of Moses the servant of the  Lord, the  Lord  said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide:  “Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites.  I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.  Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Mediterranean Sea in the west.  No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.  Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.     “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.  Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.  Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the  Lord  your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:1-9 NIV)

I’m sure we all have heard and/or used the term “in the zone.” Especially in sports when an athlete or team is performing exceptionally well. When Joshua became leader of the Israelites, they got in the zone! Joshua and Caleb kept the nation of Israel in line with God. Yes, some mistakes were made, but even with those mistakes God turned it for their good because they were walking in obedience to God.

Read Joshua chapter ten through twelve, it’s the graveyard of fallen kings and kingdoms. The Israelites defeat kingdom after kingdom, tallying up a winning streak that would make King David prayed! They were so in line with God that during one particular battle found in chapter ten, God stopped the solar system so they could win the battle.

When we get in the zone with God, we are unstoppable! When we fall in line with His plan and we are in obedience to Him, awesome things happen. Get in the zone with God!

Much Love & God Bless
