“O storm-battered city, troubled and desolate! I will rebuild you with precious jewels and make your foundations from lapis lazuli. I will make your towers of sparkling rubies, your gates of shining gems, and your walls of precious stones. I will teach all your children, and they will enjoy great peace.” (Isaiah 54:11-14 NLT)

Read Isaiah 54:11-17
God has told Israel that he will end their punishment. He has given them His word letting them know that His promises will happen and now He is letting Israel know the benefits they will reap if they serve Him alone. God disciplines us to get our attention so we will turn back to Him. He is saying “Come here! I will restore your brokenness, I will lift you up again! You will be mighty! Yes, challenges will come but you will not be destroyed by them! As long as you serve me!”
“I have created the blacksmith who fans the coals beneath the forge and makes the weapons of destruction. And I have created the armies that destroy. But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!” (Isaiah 54:16-17 NLT) Do you want these benefits? Then stay on the path God set you on! Don’t send yourself back into another dry season! God is showing His mercy don’t take it for granted!
“Just as I swore in the time of Noah that I would never again let a flood cover the earth, so now I swear that I will never again be angry and punish you. For the mountains may move and the hills disappear but even then my faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken,” says the Lord, who has mercy on you.” (Isaiah 54:9-10 NLT)

Read Isaiah 54:9-10
God wants to know that He does not go back on His promises. He promised Abraham his nation will be blessed and prosperous. (See Genesis 12) That is why God does not completely wipe them out! God had mercy on Israel because of the covenant He made. God is saying come follow me I will restore you, my word is true! Yes, I punished you because you disobeyed me but I am extending my mercy to you so you can be blessed by me! You can take me at my word! Everything else will fail, but my word will stand! Take of the words that God is speaking to you! He will do what He said He will do! Just follow Him!
“But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!” (Isaiah 54:17 NLT)
Hello family, the above scripture is one of the most half quoted scriptures in the bible. All too often the first half is quoted but “These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!” is left off. This scripture is one piece of a bigger masterpiece! There is so much more to be applied, in order to fully appreciate verse 17 we must start at Isaiah 54:1. So get comfortable buckle you seatbelts and keep your hands and feet in the vehicle at all times! Let’s dig in!
Read Isaiah 54:1-8
“Sing, O childless woman, you who have never given birth! Break into loud and joyful song, O Jerusalem, you who have never been in labor. For the desolate woman now has more children than the woman who lives with her husband,” says the Lord. “Enlarge your house; build an addition. Spread out your home, and spare no expense! For you will soon be bursting at the seams. Your descendants will occupy other nations and resettle the ruined cities.” Israel was being punished because they strayed from God and He wanted them to see the error of their ways. God is using Isaiah to bring them a message of hope and redemption. God is calling Israel back, He encourages them to come back and follow Him! God will show us what will happen when we submit to Him. He is saying you have gone through this time of discipline, I want you to follow me! You will benefit greatly, Come Back Home!
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” (Proverbs 25:6-7 NLT)
Hello family, this world promotes self-elevation and reliance upon self to get to the heights we want to be at. In God’s kingdom it is the opposite. To be surrendered is also to be humbled. We stop trying stop promote our self and let God promote us. We will keep bumping and banging our head trying to do it on our own. I need God to give me the strength to get up each day, I need God to direct me on what to do each day, if I don’t I am all over the place and not focused. Our self is limited if we would take a step back and let God lead us we will be lifted so much higher than where our plan would take us. Be open to Gods leading listen and obey His Guidance even in the little things!
“Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those who are being saved and by those who are perishing. To those who are perishing, we are a dreadful smell of death and doom. But to those who are being saved, we are a life-giving perfume. And who is adequate for such a task as this? You see, we are not like the many hucksters[a] who preach for personal profit. We preach the word of God with sincerity and with Christ’s authority, knowing that God is watching us.” (2 Corinthians 2:15-17 NLT)
Hello family, when I first started writing I did not feel adequate. I did not feel I was qualified to write poems and devotions. Many times I ask God “why do you want me to talk about this I’m still going through this situation?” I didn’t feel qualified, but God qualified me. God equips us to deliver whatever message He need us to deliver. We cannot do it on our own but with God we can. God has qualified you that is all you need. Don’t suppress the message God gave you! Someone needs to hear it! Don’t fell inadequate!
