Morning Coffee Devotions: Poking At Their Problems Pt1 2/1/17

Read John 4:1-18

7 Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, “Please give me a drink.” 8 He was alone at the time because his disciples had gone into the village to buy some food. 9 The woman was surprised, for Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans. She said to Jesus, “You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan woman. Why are you asking me for a drink?” – (John 4:7-9 NLT)

Hello family,  Over the past few years and even beyond that. The Church (body of Christ) in general has been In a frame of mind where we are quick to see and poke at the issues of the world and stand up and point the finger at every thing that is wrong and fold its arms like a disappointed adult.

Yes, we are to make disciples of all nations and lead the Lost to Christ. But how can the lost come if all they are greeted with is a bunch of finger pointing and being told how bad off they are. Tell me something, would you hang around someone who made it their number one priority to poke at and highlight every thing that you are doing wrong? No, you would not.

I have a christian group for fans of the cartoon My little Pony. One of the member is not a believer. She made this statement to me. “Im glad I found this group I really have true friends here all of you have shown me what GOOD christians are like.” In the time that she has been apart of the group i have seen her respond positively to my inspirational post. She has even come to me for prayer. She even sent me this message one evening when i had a bad headache. “I pray your God Heals you.” Wow! When she first joined she was very defensive but God is working on her heart drawing her closer. All I have done is shared my life with her and God stared the rest.

Yes, I see the issues in her life, but God did not tell me to point that out. he told me to welcome her with open arms and to encourage her and show her the love of Christ. You see with the woman at the well Christ started with her physical need but was aiming for Her spiritual need. He didn’t come out the gate with a bunch of accusations and finger pointing. He turned a normal conversation right around and spoke to the heart of the woman Christ spoke to the root of her issues, not the symptoms.

Yes, this world has issues but if we look with God’s eyes only then can God use us to tend to the root of the issues. We will get no where poking at the worlds issues. Poking at the problems will not show the world why they need Christ

Much Love & God Bless
