Morning Coffee flashback 4/7/15 Justice! (In Due Season)

“God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad.” (Ecclesiastes 12:14 NLT)

Hello, family every day we see injustice. Corrupt cops and judges, wrongfully imprisoned people. Injustice is all around us. It may seem like the bad guys are getting away with their evil deeds. They may escape the courts here on earth, but they cannot escape Gods court. They will have their day in court and god will have the final say. So do not stress yourself in this matter let God bring the final judgment on them. They will have their day! The deeds that they think that they hid will be brought to light!

Morning Coffee 8/25/14 Flashback The Beatitudes: The Humble (meek) are Blessed

God blesses those who are humble, for they will inherit the whole earth.” (Matthew 5:5 NLT)

Jesus is continuing His Sermon on the Mount, He now speaking about those who remain humble.

In other translations of the Bible in Matthew 5:5 (like the NIV, and ASV) the word meek is used in place of humble. Since we have been on humility over the past few days, let’s, start there. I did a little more digging and research, on this verse. And it takes humility to another level. I read John Gills commentary on this scripture. (Link is at the bottom) Humility or meekness is supposed to flow from us. In this life we are going to run into some people that don’t have the best people skills, or look out for our best. They may stab us in the back (figuratively speaking) and our flesh may want to rise up and get that person back but we will have to humble our self and let God handle it. We may have to learn from a follow believer that is mean and rough around the edges. We will still have to be humble and receive what God wants us to learn from them. Being Humble means to think of others higher than yourself no matter how much skill you have. Don’t look at humility as if you are lying down and letting people run over you. No if anything it will make you stronger. You will be able to receive more and grow more. And at the end of our time hear on earth our inheritance won’t be of this world but of God’s Kingdom. “God blesses those who are humble, for they will inherit the whole earth.” (Matthew 5:5 NLT)

I know this is all easier said than done but by humbling our self we won’t have to learn lessons the hard way. In all you do be humble and meek. And watch and see how blesses you, you will gain so much more.

Morning Coffee 8/17/14 flash back     Follow Me

“One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers—Simon, also called Peter, and Andrew—throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living.  Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!”    And they left their nets at once and followed him. A little farther up the shore he saw two other brothers, James and John, sitting in a boat with their father, Zebedee, repairing their nets. And he called them to come, too.  They immediately followed him, leaving the boat and their father behind.” (Matthew 4:18-22 NLT)

Yes I know you may have heard and read this passage of scripture multiple times. But there is a reason you are reading this today. So before we continue drop the “I heard this before!” attitude. And open you heart and mind to what the Lord wants you to receive!

Ok!  Simon ( a.k.a.Peter), Andrew, James, And John have abandoned the family businesses to follow Jesus. Let’s put things into perspective. These four men have just left their jobs, there main source of income, to follow Christ! That just blows my mind! But when God calls you, you answer. You see these events were already laid out. Long before these first four disciples were born, it was already stitched into their DNA that they would be Disciples of Christ. “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he  predestined us for adoption to sonship  through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will” (Ephesians 1:4-5 NLT)

God saw fit to call you into His service. There are ministries He has planted in you that He will use bless others and bring Glory to His Name. Don’t stress about how these ministries will come about. When the time is right God will call you to do what He has placed In you. Some of these things you may already know, others are waiting to be un locked. And when He does call you out it won’t be because of anything you did. When He calls you, you will know it and you will follow!

Morning Coffee Flashback 8/2/14 Pretty Enough To Take You Down

“Then Delilah pouted, “How can you tell me, ‘I love you,’ when you don’t share your secrets with me? You’ve made fun of me three times now, and you still haven’t told me what makes you so strong!”  She tormented him with her nagging day after day until he was sick to death of it. Finally, Samson shared his secret with her. “My hair has never been cut,” he confessed, “for I was dedicated to God as a Nazirite from birth. If my head were shaved, my strength would leave me, and I would become as weak as anyone else.” Delilah realized he had finally told her the truth, so she sent for the Philistine rulers. “Come back one more time,” she said, “for he has finally told me his secret.” So the Philistine rulers returned with the money in their hands.  Delilah lulled Samson to sleep with his head in her lap, and then she called in a man to shave off the seven locks of his hair. In this way she began to bring him down, and his strength left him. Then she cried out, “Samson! The Philistines have come to capture you!” When he woke up, he thought, “I will do as before and shake myself free.” But he didn’t realize the Lord had left him.” (Judges 16:15-20 NLT)

We all have it.  It’s called an alkalis heel, that one thing that captivates our flesh. In Sampson’s case it was women. He was so captivated by her that he did not see the many warning signs. By the time he realized what happen it was too late.

We all have a weak spot, we are not impenetrable. But God beading as gracious as He is, will send us warning signs that we are getting our self into something that can take us out. Sampson got his first warning from his mother and father. (Read Judges 14) Sampson didn’t take head to his parents warning. Little did he know that his desire for the beautiful philistine women would be his downfall. Sampson lost his anointing the same way the philistine’s solved his riddle. His wife kept begging and nagging until he gave up his secret. With his first wife it cost him a riddle but with Delilah it cost him so much more.

The enemy will attack us where we fell before. We need to take note of the pattern in which we are tempted. Take note of the things that attract us. It may not be something as big as lust for the opposite sex. It could be something as simple as playing tennis. Whatever it is, if it draws you away from God, it is pretty enough to take you down.

2 Behold, God [is] my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH [is] my strength and [my] song; he also is become my salvation. – Isaiah 12:2 KJV

Hello family, every now and then i come a cross a devotion or story that truly blesses me. The Devotion i got in an email gave me peace about how God has his hand on my life. this devotion is from Grace Gems a website that has sermons from all the 19th and 18th century preachers. Its good stuff.

By-and-by the old man died, and the widow was left alone!

(George Everard, “Christian Living!” 1881)

I well remember the tenants of a humble cottage in a village in one of the eastern counties. The old couple who dwelt there had once known better days. But they were not left altogether without provision. They had an only son, who had risen to a position of competency, and he never neglected his aged parents. Very liberally did he contribute to their support, and spared nothing that would add to their comfort.

By-and-by the old man died, and the widow was left alone. She had one earthly comfort: she was able to rely with confidence on the kindness and affection of her son. Though she had little means of her own, she never feared that she should lack anything so long as he lived. Shortly after her husband’s death, her son wrote her a letter full of filial affection. He told her how deeply he felt for her, and then he promised that he would pay the rent of her cottage, and send her amply enough for the supply of all her needs. If ever she had any special need or difficulty, he assured her that if she would only write and tell him, he would do all in his power to assist her.

So the old lady lived upon her son, and was without anxiety. She had no care about the future. She had received many tokens of her son’s affection, and knew that he loved her. She knew also that his means were sufficient, and that she could trust his promise. So she lived happily and peacefully, relying entirely upon the care which her son had for her.

The life of this aged woman seemed to me a sort of parable of the life which a Christian should lead. It seemed to me very clearly to illustrate the words of Paul: “The life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.”

The Christian, like this woman, has no resources in himself.

He has no stock of grace.

He has no strength to meet temptation.

He has no means of providing the supplies needful for the journey of life.

He is poor and needy, frail, weak, and helpless.

He has nothing to call his own, but sin and misery.

But the Christian has One upon whose faithful love he can ever depend. He can say in his heart, “Christ has given me a sure token of His love. He laid down His life for my sake, He gave Himself for me, and shed His precious blood to cleanse me from my guilt. He has brought me back after all my wanderings. He has taught me to love and serve Him. He has heard my prayers and helped me hitherto–and can I doubt that He will help me even to the end?”

The Christian knows that in Christ, there is abundance of all that he needs. This woman could rely upon her son’s affection, and she knew also that he had the ability as well as the will to assist her. The Christian also is persuaded that in Christ are to be found inexhaustible supplies. He has unsearchable riches of mercy, grace, and consolation!

Reader, look unto Christ–and expect from Him all you need.

Look unto Him for wisdom, to guide and direct you in the difficulties that beset your path.

Look unto Him for righteousness, that, in spite of all your unworthiness and many sins, you may ever have boldness and confidence before God.

Look unto Him for the continual power and grace of His blessed Spirit, the Comforter. You need to mortify sin, and grow in holiness–and this you can only do as the Spirit empowers in you. You need to have a clearer view of Jesus’ love, and an increase of faith day by day–and this, too, is given to you by His Spirit. It is the Spirit who testifies of Him, and who can perfect you in His likeness. And He has promised that the Spirit shall dwell with you and lead you into all truth.

Look unto Christ, to assist you and stand by you in the smallest and in the greatest matters. Everything in earth and in Heaven is in the hand of Christ. He can help us in matters that affect our present comfort. He can help us in the hour of death, when friends and kindred must bid us farewell.

The One in whom we trust, can never die. It is quite possible that the son might have died before the widow of whom I have been speaking–and then her prop and her stay would have been gone. But “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” He was dead–yet He is alive for evermore.

Though all earthly friends depart, though we are left alone without a human comforter near–yet Christ abides for evermore. If we trust in Him, we can never be left desolate.

Strive thus to live by faith on Christ continually.

Nothing else to say but wow

“Grace So Glorious” – LIVE

Morning Coffee Revisited 10/11/14 Why Are You Listening To The People? (Are They God?)

“Then Saul admitted to Samuel, “Yes, I have sinned. I have disobeyed your instructions and the  lord ’s command, for I was afraid of the people and did what they demanded.  But now, please forgive my sin and come back with me so that I may worship the lord .” But Samuel replied, “I will not go back with you! Since you have rejected the lord ’s command, he has rejected you as king of Israel.” As Samuel turned to go, Saul tried to hold him back and tore the hem of his robe.  And Samuel said to him, “The  lord  has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to someone else—one who is better than you.  And he who is the Glory of Israel will not lie, nor will he change his mind, for he is not human that he should change his mind!” Then Saul pleaded again, “I know I have sinned. But please, at least honor me before the elders of my people and before Israel by coming back with me so that I may worship the lord your God.”  So Samuel finally agreed and went back with him, and Saul worshiped the lord. (1 Samuel 15:24-31 NLT)

Good Morning or afternoon or what time of day you are reading this! We are back in 1 Samuel 15 Saul Has just confessed his sin and now he is beginning to reap the consequences.

Saul valued the opinions of the people more than he valued God’s commands. Saul did not completely destroy the Amalekites as he was instructed to do. He keep the best spoils and spared king Agag. Because of his disobedience Saul lost his anointing as king God had choose another.

Saul said he was afraid of the people, why fear them and do what they demand, are they God? When God gives you specific instructions, you carry them out to the finest detail! Pay no mind to anyone that tells you anything contrary to what God told you to do! We sometimes put way to much value in people,

We can be on the right track, doing what God told us to do. And people will say “no do it this way” at that moment we need to disregard what they are saying and continue with what God told us to do. People are not God, we should never fear or respect anyone more than God.

Disobedience to God is costly, in saul’s case it cost his his anointing as king. He put the people above God and he reaped the consequences! Don’t fear and respect anyone more than you fear and respect God. Why Are You Listening To The People? Are They God?

Morning Coffee Flashback: 6/23/15 What We Are Called To Do! Pt1

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19 NLT)

Hello, family, this scripture has new meaning to me. Over the past three weeks, my family and I have been watching the A.D Bible series on NBC. It follows the apostles and the start of the early church.

The apostles preached the gospel where ever they could. In spite of opposition they still persevered. These men who were fishermen doctors and tax collectors. Jesus gave them a new purpose. Train up more disciples and baptizes them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This applies to us! Jesus commands us do just as the apostles did. You don’t need to be a pastor or bishop. We get too caught up in titles! What matters is that God commissioned you to do this. You don’t need a baptismal pool the apostles did not have that. They used any body of water God lead them to. Don’t think that God won’t use you to do the same. This applies to you!

Morning Coffee 6/20/16 Stick Your Feet In The Grass

8 When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the LORD God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the LORD God among the trees. – Genesis 3:8 NLT

Hello family, there is one thing i do every day, either in the morning or late afternoon or evening, i go outside and look at my surroundings. I don’t say a single word, my mind is focused on the environment around me. I don’t ask God for anything, i don’t bring any stress or worry from the day with me. I sit or stand in silence.

God will surround me and soon i am lost in him. Adam and Eve had this 24/7 but lost it. Christ bought it back to us. Nothing wrong with quiet time in your house. but there is something about encountering God in the elements he created. It is the best kind of therapy. When you come back to the issue it is not as big as it once was. That is because your perspective changes. Your mind is no longer focused on fixing an issue. But on the Creator, our heavenly father.

This evening or the next morning get up go outside find a quiet spot and sit there and don’t say or think about anything but God’s creation. I promise you will feel so awesome!

You will live in joy and peace.” (Isaiah 55:10-12 NLT)

Yes, this world is getting darker and more chaotic. But this will provide more and more of an opportunity for us the body of Christ to be a light in the darkness.
