Morning Coffee 2/11/19 The Gospel According to….

Hello Family…

Hello family,

The Word of God does not stop at the last “Amen” in Revelation. As I was on my way to church one Sunday , the Holy Spirit said to me “You are still in bible times.” When we read the bible we sometimes put it in a box.

We put a distance between our lives and the sixty six books, as if we are incapable of being used by God in the same way He used the people in thoes books. If the Word of God is living and active, then it is not restricted to just sixty six books. You and I are not any less or more important than the disciples that walked with Christ.

When Christ came into your life He started the Gospel within you. So the people that come into your path have a chance to read from your life, the Gospel according to (your name here). You are an apostle to someone in your sphere of influence. God wants them to read from your book.

The Bible is our blueprint for life, just because the Gospel of (your name here) is not physically written in it does not make you any less significant. We have to realize the authority God gave us, to impact this world.

Much Love & God Bless

“Even Till The End Of The Age!” (Poem)

Hello Family…

Even when government rises against government. He is with you.

Even when there are wars and rumors of wars, He is with you.

Even when the elect are fooled and turn away in there blindness.

Even then God will not abandon those who truly seek is guidance.

Even as heaven and earth pass away and the mountains turn to dust. He is with you.

Even when they put you on trial because of His name, He is with you.

His thoughts of you existed before the foundations of the world.

He is faithful and will complete the work He started in you.

Be still and know that He alone is God, And He will not abandon you.

He will present you faultless in the presence of His Glory.

He will wipe away every tear and all sorrows will fade.

Your steps are ordered of the Lord. He guide you.

Do not fear the shadow of death, for it will not touch you!

He was with you yesterday, He is with you today.

And will be with you even till the end of the age.

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 1/8/19 “I’m gonna be Batman!”

Hello Family…

Please watch the above video first.

“I’m gonna be Batman” “And I’m gonna be the police chief so i can help my brother!”

These were the responses my seven and eleven year old cousins gave to my mother when she asked them what they wanted to be when they grew up. They were not joking in the least. My mother and I attempted to reason them into more attainable carrier goals but all that did was strengthen there determination to be Batman and the police chief (not a police chief, The police chief). The discussion got so deep that by the time they left I had given up any attempt to convince them that they could not be what they aspired to become.

At one point we were my cousins, we were the little boy in the video above. Then we met doubt and logic and we allowed them to clip our wings. So when God leads us in an impossible direction we back away and retreat to our comfort zone, where things make logical sense.

The boy in the video wanted to be spider man and at some point before the recording started he looked to his Father to provide the impossible. In 2019 we are going to be presented with impossible things and we will feel the Holy Spirit leading us into these things. But he will not force us into them.

‘Is anything too hard for the Lord ? I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”’ Genesis 18:14 NLT

Morning Coffee 10/17/18 Pushing & Shoving

Hello Family

Recently i was away visiting family to celebrate my uncle and aunt finally getting married. But thats not the topic of this devotion. On the morning of our second day there my father and i were jolted from our sleep by knocking on our hotel room door and my mom shouting from the bathroom for one of us to answer the door.

My dad threw his robe on and answered the door. My uncle asked “Are you guys alive?” My mom hearing my uncle replied ”oh i overslept we were supposed to meet you guys downstairs at 6:30.” My dad and I were totally oblivious to this arrangement. so my aunt and uncle leave to eat and we start getting dressed and washed up.

Normally my father will sing a classic hymn as he is getting ready and i have come to enjoy his singing in the morning. But this time he reached way back and stared singing a song called one day at a time with Jesus. These words grasped my foggy half awake mind.

“Do you remember, when you walked among men?
Well Jesus you know if you’re looking below
It’s worse now, than then.
pushing and shoving, and crowding my mind.
So for my sake, teach me to take
One day at a time.”

The moment was funny but the song was and is so very appropriate. We overload our self with planning and making the next move. we try to fix and line up nine months from now and we totally miss what needs fixing today. We may have been jolted from our sleep put in a slight rush to get ready but the song my dad sang was a reminder to slow down and flow with things as they come. Nothing wrong with planning but look at what God has in-front of us now.

Morning Coffee 9/24/18 Only You Know

Hello Family

We all have elders in our life. The individuals who God uses to help shape and mold us. These individuals are important to have and there is nothing wrong with going to them for advice or receiving the wisdom that they pour out to us. But at the end of the day we have to line that up with God’s plan for our life. We sometimes  can receive advice or wisdom and act on it without consulting God.

I respect all the elders in my life and i am grateful for them. But i have to turn to God and say “what do you have to say about this?” And if it is in line with God’s purpose for me i move forward with it. but if its not I have to respectfully set it aside and seek God on the next steps. The people in our lives who are our advisers are people just like us we cannot honer them more than we honer God.

We may not be able to fully explain to them the direction God has directed us and they may not be able to fully understand. We cannot get caught up in that. This is why a deep personal relationship with our heavenly father is so important. With out it we may let go of something that comes around only once. and once it is let go of it may not comeback around. Only you know how God is leading you. He is the only one there with you, watching you 24/7/365.

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 9/15/18 You Can’t Pick Your Disciples

Hello family,

As Christ ascended into heaven, he commanded us to “go and make disciples of all nations!” He didn’t say find the ones that we are comfortable with, that will only call us at convenient times.

As we walk out the path of life God has us on God will place people in our lives that He wants us to disciple. For some people, you are the only “Jesus” they will see. The Christ living in you needs to be deposited into them and you are that vessel. I am guilty of trying to “pick my disciples” and having expectations and plans that God didn’t set for them.

You want to draw someone closer to Christ and help them grow in the faith? forget your battle plans, drop your expectations and hear them through the filter of the Holy Spirit and hear the Holy Spirit without your filter. All of the twelve disciples followed Christ but Christ didn’t find them in the same place.

Morning Coffee 9/3/18 Only you can live this life

Hello Family,

God knew you before you were born. before you were the warm glow on you mothers face. He knows ALL your strengths all of your downfalls. Knowing this why do you think that he would assign you a life that would end in defeat and leaving you unable to accomplish what he commissioned you to do?

Let me take you back to the very foundation of your life. Back way before you were even conceived, imagine you spirit sitting with God and the two of you a looking at life scenarios for you to live out. And He picks one out and you agree to live it out. Because you know that it is gonna work out and He is gonna guide you every step of the way. Deep down within our spirit we know God has us but we allow the things of this earthly realm to shake and rattle us. And we sometimes want to lay down in defeat. With God we are more than able. but sometime we forget God.

I can’t reach the people God wants you to reach, I can’t handle the test you are going through right now and i don’t want to handle it. and you can’t reach the people God called me to reach you cant handle my test. Why? Because my life is for me and your life is for you.

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 8/30/18 God is Calling

“If you want to be my disciple, you must, by comparison, hate everyone else—your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple. Luke 14:26 NLT

Hello family,

We read scriptures like this and we nod and say “amen, yes Lord!” But what happens when it is time to apply it? Now more than ever God is looking for a return on his investment. He sacrificed his one and only son to restore us to himself. We can become so attach to or love ones that they become a  idol. We may mean well by our actions but what if we were holding our self and them back from achieving what God planned. When parents send there child off to college they are letting that child go and releasing them to become successful adults. It is the same with the Church (body of Christ) Its time to be willing to lay it all on the line for Gods purpose no matter what or who it cost us.

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 8/9/18 God I Don’t Trust You!

Hello family,

“Do you trust me?” When God asked me this question last night my response was a delayed yes. Why was it delayed? It was delayed because i really had to do a heart check. You see God didn’t ask if I trusted Him twenty percent or fifty percent. He asked me “Do you trust me?” Period.

When we (Christians) are asked questions like “Do you love Jesus?” Or “Do you trust God?”  We  fire off an instant “Yes!” almost befor the question is finished. I am not trying to cast judgment on if you trust God or not, that is not my place. But why would God ask me or you this question if He saw nothing within our heart that is contrary to the “yes” that so quickly leaves our mouth?

Jesus asked Peter three times “Do you love me?” (See John 21:16). Put yourself in the sandals of Peter and replace peter with your name. Read the passage as if it was you by the fire with Jesus (in all honesty, it is us by the fire). It makes you think and process doesn’t it? You see each time Jesus asked “Do you love me” It filtered deeper into peters heart and soul, pulling out anything that contradicted his “Yes”.

After  Jesus asked His heart piercing questions he then gave Peter the action he needed to take to apply his love and trust for God.  Family when God tells us to move one way and we move another, we are saying to God “I don’t trust you.”. Ill give you an example. I am currently writing this on a iPad at my local Starbucks, my laptop is on the table next to me. Obviously it is the more effective tool to use, but I cannot use it because my charger is at home. When i was packing my back pack i heard the Holy spirt say “Grab your laptop cord while you are getting your phone charger.” I replied “ nah, I can get it later.” Now here i sit writing this devotion on a much smaller keyboard my long giant fingers bumping occasionally into the touchscreen causing me to type words where I don’t what them. And I cannot do the other things i planned to do because my laptop battery is unreliable.

God gave me instructions because He saw what was coming by I thought i had a better plan. Disobedience does not just apply to the Big “sins” Disobedience applies to the little “take you laptop cord” things too. When we are disobedient our actions are saying “God I don’t trust you. My plan is better”

Morning Coffee 8/8/18 Relationship

Hello family,

“Do you trust me?” This is the question God posed to me as i was cleaning the dishes from dinner and a cover of Till I found you by Phil Wickham played from my phone. Do we Fully Trust God to take the script we have been writing, throw it out and start rewriting our story? Are we getting so caught up in the uncomfortable changes God leads us to, that we end up missing out on the break through that we have been begging God for?

“Without faith it is impossible to please God”- Hebrews 11:6. All seven billion people currently on this planet are born with with an mustard seed amount of faith, you don’t have to download it, it comes pre-installed. We just have to apply it to God and not anything else. That small amount of faith is the key to your obedience to God. Once that obedience is unlocked it then unlocks more faith. But starts when we remove that mustard seed faith from our understanding and apply it to acknowledging God in all His ways not ours. This can come in the simplest of tasks. After all why would God tell you to move the big when you can’t move the small.

Much Love & God Bless
