Morning Coffee 5/24/17 2 Lions (Poem)

2 Lions

My mind is a battle ground.

My heart is the prize

With in me are two lions fighting for strength and size.

This battle never ends it never goes

it only ebbs and flows.

This battle is not something I choose.

The two lions do not fight with there teeth or roars.

These lions use words that when acted on can open diffrent doors

The crazy thing about this battle is i decide who wins.

These loins call for my attention and time

they seek to have all my focus

ether one can devour me like a plague of locust.

One lion screams world lust

the other shouts in God we trust.

One lion is boom the other is bust.

So here i am caught in the middle

My flesh and Gods will

I can’t treat this like its lets make a deal.

Because the choices i make will have a lasting impact

The choices i make will leave me tattered or standing intact.

2 lions, my mind is the battle ground

My heart is the prize that leads to my soul.

One lion will leave you broken but the other will make you whole.

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 4/10/17 Ask Not What Your God Can Do For You! But Ask What You Can Do For Your God!

READ ROMANS  12:1-2

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. – Romans 12:1 KJV

Hello family, Ask Not What Your God Can Do For You! But Ask  What You Can Do For Your God! Let’s be honest with our selves, we ask God for a lot! Majority of it is for self benefit. As this year has progressed God has been shifting my mindset from “God do for me!” to “God what can i do for you!” It’s not that i don’t ask Him for things for myself. It’s me coming into my personal time with God. With the mindset of a soldier reporting for duty, ready to execute His will.

We are in a time where we cannot get comfortable. we really should be doing the opposite. we should be prepared and expecting to be placed out of our comfort zone. I never met a soldier that fought with fuzzy bunny slippers on with a remote in there hand with a jumbo bag of popcorn. When God calls report for duty!

Ask Not What Your God Can Do For You! But Ask  What You Can Do For Your God!

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 3/20/17 I Don’t Understand It (But I Will Obey)

READ EXODUS 3:1-4

4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here [am] I. – Exodus 3:4 KJV

Hello family, I don’t fully understand all that God as set before me. What i do know is that He has called me and I must answer. I cannot turn away from the “burning bush” He has set before me. He has called me for such a time as this!

God is presenting “burning bushes” to those He has chosen and they have to answer. You may not fully understand the “burning bush” in front of you but it is the first step you must take to accomplish all that God has for you. Don’t try and force it, if you do you will just burn out. It is God operating in you that will show you how to get things done. 19 When you are arrested, don’t worry about how to respond or what to say. God will give you the right words at the right time. 20 For it is not you who will be speaking–it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. – Matthew 10:19-20 NLT

Keep your ear to the ground so that you will sense where the spirt is leading. Be on high alert, be watching and ever ready for when God tells you to move. The time now is so incredibly critical. Just as Ester received and acted on the wisdom of her uncle Mordecai. It is such a time as this that you act and  move according to the Holy Spirit.

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 9/19/16 Made For This!

22 The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. – Proverbs 8:22 KJV

Hello family, this past week at my job was a bit rough I just wanted it to end. I took calls that had complaint after complaint. I felt like i was being shot at by a firing squad. I could not wait for Friday, my off day too come and get to the mens group that evening.

God had something for me that evening. I got a new point of view, customer service for apple is not my job. It is another aspect of the ministry God has given me. God has ordained each call that rings to my phone. Before the foundations of the world was made, I was destined to speak with every person that has and will ever call in to my line.

So I am no longer looking at my position as a job or work, but ministry. We don’t have to call fire down from heaven and throw out a bunch of scripture. No! All we have to be is a willing open vessel and allow the Holy Spirit to flow through us. He can move through the tone of my greeting, “Hello! Thank you for calling Apple, my name is Brandon! How can I help you today?”

Your Job is another aspect of your ministry. No matter if you are the CEO of a big corporation or the midnight trash man. For this moment you were made for. You may be the last Jesus they see!

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 8/15/16 No Excuses!

Read Philippians 4:12-13

13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. – Philippians 4:13 NLT

Hello family, The other night i was out with my family at a restaurant. The restaurant had different sports on the tv’s one show on espy caught my eye. It was a sport center feature called No Compromise.

I see this little boy preparing him self for a wrestling match. He introduces him self he says ‘ I was born without legs. My name is Isaiah Bird, No legs, No excuses!” Isaiah’s mom has had domestic issues with his father that lead to them being homeless and put in a shelter. isaiah’s wrestling coach took him into his home and became a father figure to Isaiah.

This young man came one match short of winning the junior New york state wresting championship. No excuses! No excuses! No excuses! That is what his coach is teaching him. In life there will be things that seem out of our ability well that is where God steps in. We have no excuses!

There is not a single situation that we can’t overcome! Isaiah has way more of a reason to give up than any of us do. But he doesn’t even when met with failure. Quit is not an option, laying down is not an option! The only thing to do is rise up, learn, and go at it again! No Excuses family! No Excuses!

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 7/5/16 Compose Your Self (This Is your Moment)

Read 2Timothy 1:1-7

7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. – 2 Timothy 1:7 NLT

Hello family, When I read this scripture, I think of a warrior preparing themselves for battle. They have been fully trained for what lies ahead and now it is time to apply the training. Paul is basically giving Timothy a pep talk to keep him fired up.

When we step out to do what God told us to do there will be steps that we won’t be notified of until we need to make them. At these moments we must keep our composure. We cannot get scattered during these critical moments. I like to know every step ahead but this year has not been the case. And i have had to keep moving as God planned.

Keep building the gifts God gave you, keep training, keep working the plan God is giving you. This is your moment! Remember God cannot be caught off guard he knows what lies ahead! So breathe deep and move forward!

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 6/27/16 Lord Let This Cup Pass

Read Luke 22:37-42

42 “Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” – Luke 22:42 NLT

Hello family, What if the cup did pass? What if our heavenly father said “ok you don’t have to do this.” For one, i would not be here. Every person ever born wound be doomed with no chance of hope. But we know that the cup did not pass and Chris token our place and made the ultimate sacrifice. for us.

One thing that my pastor mentioned in his message on Sunday was that there are certain things we must endure in order for us to become what God destined us to be. How can we show mercy if we have not be given mercy. How can we be wise if we haven’t made a few mistakes. When solomon asked for wisdom I’m sure God did not just drop it in his lap. Im sure there were some tough decisions to be made. I bet he made some mistakes but leaned from them.

This is also not just about you. Its about the lives you will affect. The people watch silently in the background seeing you go through the mess. So if you push away the situation that God designed to strengthen you to be a blessing to others, how will you make an impact?

Family, God knows all that we are going to do in this life. He sees all the choices (good and bad) that we will make. So he tweaks the bad ones so that they will benefit us. But if we run from the storm, if we run from pain we wont grow. we wont Get the benefit of learning from the pain.

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 3/9/16 Destiny Not Derailed

the new mc banner

Read Genesis 27:1-45

36 Esau exclaimed, “No wonder his name is Jacob, for now he has cheated me twice. First he took my rights as the firstborn, and now he has stolen my blessing. Oh, haven’t you saved even one blessing for me?” – Genesis 27:36 NLT

Hello family, Jacobs name means trickster, supplanter. He had a track record but his mess ups and checkered past did not stop God from using him in his divine plan to start the nation of Israel.

Israel eventually becomes his name. God turned Jacob around and got him on the right track. Sometime we may look at the sin we have committed and think “dang! i can’t get it right. how can i be used of God now?”

Since when did you gain the authority to decide what God can use and can’t use? If you look through the family tree of Jesus you can find some people that had some issues. Rahab was a prostitute, David and Bathsheba (we know what happened there), solomon got wife happy against the lords commands and so on. God still used them

By no means do we go and do as we please. yes we all done some things that God is not pleased about. We now continue our pursuit of God. He can still use you. if we were all perfect there would be no need for christ to head his blood on the cross. Your destiny is not Derailed! You are redeemed!

1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. – Hebrews 12:1 NLT

Morning Coffee 2/24/16 The Process

Read Acts 9:1-12

Watch first: The Karate Kid (2010) – Jacket Scene (PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE)

8 Saul picked himself up off the ground, but when he opened his eyes he was blind. So his companions led him by the hand to Damascus. 9 He remained there blind for three days and did not eat or drink. – Acts 9:8-9 NLT

Hello family, When God is moving us from one stage of our life to the next, He may put us in a holding pattern. There are some things that he needs to pull out of us so we can step into the next season ready to take full advantage of it.

Has God given you a vision? (he has one for all of us). He has shown you your purpose or promised you something. And you say “ok Lord hit me with it!” But instead of dropping that purpose or promise right in your lap, God goes “Mr.Han” on you and tell you to take you jacket on then off.

Im sure it was not very fun for the karate kid to put a jacket on and then off when he was expecting to become a trained martial artist. And I’m sure it was not fun for Saul (soon to be Paul) be blind and not eat or drink for three days. But that just it! The process it not designed for our entertainment or enjoyment. The process is meant for our progress, for our humbling, for our strengthening. God had to temporally take Saul’s sight so he could see where he truly stood. God had to break Saul’s earthly greatness to show him what true greatness is.

It is only after we have gone through the process we see the need for the process. If Mr Han had put Dre in a completion on day one the boy would have been whipped. The same with us, if God dropped our promise or purpose in our laps on day one we would self-destruct. The process is not for our entertainment, the process is for our progress.

Morning Coffee 2/12/16 Freedom

the new mc banner

15 Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not! – Romans 6:15 NLT

Hello family, last night i read a devotion that really defined our freedom in Christ. When we come to Christ we receive freedom. This freedom is not for us to do whatever we want. This freedom enables us to submit to God and obey His commands. Before we follow Christ we did not know how to do right we were bound to sin.

Christ came in beat up the bad guys, broke the chains that kept us bound and told Us to follow Him to safety. Sometimes we (myself included) go back to the bad guys and put back on the very chains christ set us free from. Yes God does give us His grace but we are to take hold of that grace not misuse it!

We are now able to run after Christ Let us run with reckless abandon! We are now free to do so! God is now our master we now obey him! There is no natural ground!

Much Love & God Bless
