“It is required of every man,’ the Ghost returned, `that the spirit within him should walk abroad among his fellowmen, and travel far and wide; and if that spirit goes not forth in life, it is condemned to do so after death. It is doomed to wander through the world — oh, woe is me! — and witness what it cannot share, but might have shared on earth, and turned to happiness!'”
-Marley’s ghost A Christmas Carol
Hello family…
I know it is quite a distance until Christmas, but God bought this line from a Christmas Carol to my attention. My pastor has asked us this question over the past week. “what is our (the church) part in this season? Speaking for myself, God has shown me the impact I have in my circle of influence and that has caused me to go about my day with more intent.
Scrooge allowed hurts from his past and the fear of this world to cause him to become a cold selfish man only looking to benefit himself, not realizing life’s deeper purpose. God place opportunities right in his own counting house but the circumstances of life had blinded him.
Only after Marley and the three spirits showed him the error and consequences of his ways did he see the potential he had, that went far beyond his earthly riches. Family, what opportunities have gone unnoticed because of our fear or hurts? I don’t know about you but I don’t want God to reply my life and have a multitude of missed opportunities where my spirit could have blessed my fellow man.
I don’y need to ponder the question “why are we here” We are here to be stewards over this planet and every gift and anointing God place within us. No one person crosses your path by chance and every action we take affects our fellow man.
“If you cling to your life, you will lose it, and if you let your life go, you will save it.” Luke 17:33
Much Love & God bless
