I read an email from a blog site i follow. someone posted the question does God love everyone unconditionally? Now I’m sure you may have responded to the question with an instant preloaded “yes!” But lets not get ahead of ourselves. Grab a cup of Coffee and lets see what the Holy Spirit will reveal to us.
First what is love? What are its characteristics? For that we will head to 1 Corinthians 13. This scripture maybe super familiar but as we know God’s word is alive and active so please lets look at this with a clean slate without any of our presumptions. “Love is patient and kind.” Parents, you may have a child that has gone astray and they are not living up to the great potential that you se within them. let me ask you how long will will you pray for them to come home? How long will your heart hope for their turn around? There isn’t and end date to to that answer especially for the mothers. Your verbal prayers may grow less frequent but deep within your hearth chambers your heart will still cry out to God for that child’s safe return even if you are on your death bed.
It is the same with God, except her is eternal and all knowing. Can you imagine knowing all the things your child would do both good and bad in there life long before they were born and you still demonstrated your love to them even if you knew they would reject you? That is Love! Love is kind. Its easy to bring a friend of family into your home for a meal but what about a total stranger that is rather dirty will you have the kindness to let them in and clean them up? God did that for us, that is apart of Love!
“My heart beating, my soul breathing
I found my life when I laid it down
Upward falling, spirit soaring
I touch the sky when my knees hit the ground” – Hillsong United Touch The Sky
Is this world so valuable and important that we don’t HEAR, SEE, TASTE, TOUCH AND SMELL, the goodness of the Lord? We are eagles that can soar but we have fallen in love with the comforts of our nest. We will soar only when we are completely surrendered.
Our world needs Christ right now. And the only way the world (people) is going to get to Christ is through us. But first our storage must be empty and available for God to fill up. A storehouse is a great place to get food but what kind of food is it? If your storehouse is giving out moon pies and cupcakes, you would be doing your fellow man a disservice. There is a reason why Jesus said let go of your life (way of thinking, your ideas, your world view) pick up your cross and follow Him.
“It is finished!” Those were Christ’s last words. “It is finished’ means exactly what it says! With those three words tore the vail and granted us access to unlimited resources! Yes we will go through trials but we should not go through them with a defeated attitude. Last time i checked the tomb is still empty!
I am writing this in my sanctuary, my place of refuge, my place of restoration. This sanctuary has no pulpit, there are no pews simply an office chair and a bed behind it. There are no multicolored stained glass windows. Most of the color comes from the collectable pony figures carefully arranged underneath the two computer monitors.
There are no ushers here, only my broken and will heart ready to usher in his presence. In this place i am instantly connected with my heavenly father and he can proceed to operate on my life. it is here away from the chaos of life that i truly find rest. Weather at my desk or underneath an oak tree. i know I can always find my secret place my sanctuary!
