16 Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. 17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. – Colossians 3:16-17 NLT
Hello family, The above picture is from a fellow writer (link to her blog at the bottom). When i read her post it resonated with me. We set goals that we want to accomplish in life. And we pour our time, skills, strength and sometimes blood sweat and tears to see these earthly goals accomplished. For a moment we fill accomplished but then we are looking for the next goal to fulfill us and bring us happiness.
The earthly goals we set usually involve mostly us as far as the human aspect goes. We pray to God to give us success. and (sometimes) He does. We Get that new car, that dream Job, That house. There is nothing wrong with aiming to achieve theses things. But if theses goals were set with selfish ambition they will only leave us looking for the next big thing.
However when our intentions are not set on our self, that house, that car, that Job will be turned into a blessing not just for you but for others as well. I will use my family for example. My mother loves to entertain, she loves to feed people. For ten years God had us (my father, my self, and my mother) in a two bedroom apartment. Yes it was nice but my mom could not bless people the way she desired. Two days before christmas 2014 we moved in to the house we waited for.
And ever since God has used this house to minister to others! Every major holiday (and little points in between) from New Years Day 2015 to Easter 2016 family friends and neighbors have been ministered to. When i think about that, I am filled with so much joy that God can use us, use a personal desire to make an impact on others that is greater than ourselves. That is true fulfillment.
Much Love & God Bless
