17 He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and wrapped himself in zeal as a cloak. – Isaiah 59:17 ESV
“The Christian is to wear zeal as we wear an outward garment which covers all the rest of our garments—a flowing robe which encompasses the entire person.” – Charles Spurgeon
Hello family, When we are zealous, we are to be zealous in every part of our life in every ministry God gave us, even the ones that don’t appeal to us. You may not be the custodian at your local church building, but if you see the floor needs moping, Go and complete that task with the same fire and passion you would have in doing a preferred task.
Our zeal for God should never be taken off (some time we do take it off) When God gives us an “unexpected” task we should be expecting it. During the night the guards kept the torches burning they did not dare let them go out. Why? Because that fire was their light in the darkness. It was their protection! If an enemy attacked they were ready because they saw them coming. Keep you zeal on you will need it.
When it was cold the travelers had cloaks to protect them from the cold. When unexpected situations come upon us. The cloak of zeal will strengthen our faith (see 1 Samuel 30). The world may seem to be crashing down around you, but you serve the One and Only true God that has never failed you or abandoned you and he won’t start now! If you are in a storm wrap up and let the zeal of God defrost your faith.
Much Love & God Bless
