READ DANIEL 1:1-15

15 And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king’s meat. – Daniel 1:15 KJV

Hello family, God places high value on our spiritual health there is no doubt about that. God is also concerned with our physical  health as well. He wants us to look well and be well, If we let this body go to pot we will not be effective in our God given purpose.

God had Daniel on a special diet for a simple reason, to keep him at his highest fitness. Yes God can use you even if you are not a fitness freak. But if your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit should you not take care of that temple? God has given me some instruction about my eating habits i admit i need to change. He is warning me for a reason. It would be stupid of me to ignore them. I need to be at my best, I can’t be effective if i am sick or in recovery.

Has God told you to put down somethings for the betterment of your physical health? Why be stubborn and ignore it! Whatever it is junk food, smoking, stop being a couch potato and getting more active, drinking less soda and more water. Whatever is that God has been knocking at the door of your heart to do go and do it! It is real hard to be effective in His kingdom if we are not at 100% spiritually and physically. God would not ask you to do anything that was not within your ability. Now go and do as you were commanded it is for our health!!!

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 1/28/16 Friend!

the new mc banner

15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. – John 15:15-16 NIV

Hello family, “You are my friend my brother even though you are a king”-As The Deer. That sentence is the beginning of the second verse of the song As The Deer. Whenever i heard or sung that line i feel God’s presence in the most intimate way. It’s just Him and I. And nothing else matters. Wow!

Tell me how many of these presidents, prime ministers, kings, queens all theses people of great stature and respect will personally choose you. And would want to know you on the deepest level good, bad, and, ugly and still call you friend!

NONE WILL! Because they will never be able to love you the way HE can! I love to hear the hymns because they communicate the awesomeness of our God in a way modern songs can’t touch. Not knocking any of todays artist but we cannot forget our foundation! We can not lose that!

The book of Psalms shows That God is not far off, someplace to high out of reach. No! He cares more than we will ever know! Yes He is our King, He is also our friend, our best friend who will always be there for us. And He shares the plans He has for us, not just the big stuff but the little stuff too! like what you should wear today! God is Awesome!  “You are my friend my brother even though you are a king”.

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 1/27/16 Graduation!!!!

the new mc banner

12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. – Philippians 3:12 NIV

Hello family, When i graduated high school it was bitter sweet. I was excited that i completed my public education and looked forward to what the future had in store. But at the same time i was sad because of the bonds i had made over ten or more years with friends. I would never see some of these people ever again. Plus i was starting college in the fall and the big unknown lay ahead.

When God moves us forward it can be bitter sweet or just feel bitter (key word feel) when it really is a God thing (that is not a typo) that He is moving us to a new level. We sometimes get too comfortable in place. And God has to push us up and out in order for us to move on. If he dose not we will fight tooth and nail, kicking and screaming to stay where we are at. So our loving father has to rock the boat a little in order for us to get up and go.

As long as we are drawing breath our progress will continue. So when graduation day approaches don’t fight to stay where you are, embrace what God has in store for you at the next level! And cherish what you learned from yesterday and be eager to receive the opportunities of tomorrow! Keep marching its graduation day!

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 1/26/16Now It’s Personal!!!

6 And you are included among those Gentiles who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ. – Romans 1:6 NLT

Hello family, Romans 1:6 Hit me right in the heart as i read it last night. Too often we generalize the bible. We read and study it and apply what it says. But we don’t see it as instruction and guidance personally written directly to us.

Because the bible is God’s living written word it is applicable to us in the most intimate and personal way. God is the author of all sixty-six books. He used a various group of people to put His words on paper. No other Author has done that. No other Book can impact our life on such a level. The bible is for all of us and specifically for us individually. When you sit down to read Gods word, take it personally because it is personal, for you for me and you neighbor down the street.

Morning Coffee 1/25/16 Pain and Discomfort

the new mc banner

17 For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! 18 So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. – 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NLT

Hello family, pain and discomfort. These are things we would rather not deal with. If we could we would love to put it all in a box and toss it away. But pain is necessary, discomfort is needed to move us forward in God and life.

When i encounter a painful or discomforting situation my first reaction is to get away from the source of it as quickly as possible. If i cannot get away from the source my next move is to block it out or suppress the pain i am feeling. We live in a world that is focused on finding ways to eliminate pain and discomfort. This world is focused on being as comfortable and pain free as possible.

This can be dangerous. How else do we know that there is something wrong. If you twisted your ankle but never felt pain then you would do even more damage because we won’t  fell the pain from the damage letting us know there is something terribly wrong. God will allow us to be discomforted and challenged in our spiritual walk. We must not back down, but we press in and ask God to show us what is wrong and what does he need us to do.

Many lessons in life are learned not in the safety of books and the classroom but out on the battlefield. When we apply the basics we learned in the classroom. God will step us up another level without taking us back into the classroom. Every lesson will not be easy breezy as a matter of fact each lesson will be more and more challenging. They are designed to draw us to our heavenly father to get instruction from Him then go out into the field and apply it so we can gain experience.

We will get some scars and fail some test. We then learn from that experience and use it as a stepping stone to the next level. Pain and Discomfort are not our enemies, they are tools for our success!

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 1/22/16 Moving Forward

the new mc banner

6 So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. 7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. – 1 Peter 5:6-7 NLT

Hello family, The next few days ahead of me are full of uncertainty. An unexpected shift is happening and right now I’m feeling like the ground beneath me is giving way. God has pointed in a direction. I must move in that direction if certain things happen. This is not the way I thought to move forward but due to circumstances out of my control, if certain things take place I must go in the direction God is pointing.

Daddy God I give you all my cares hopes, and dreams! i can’t fully see what lies ahead but i submit to your will and plans. I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever! I will seek and study your ways! You have never left me and you won’t leave me now! You have been faithful to me. So lord i will be faithful to you come what may! Bring comfort to my soul! And speak to me of what you would have me do. You dance over me, while i am unaware, you sing all around but i never hear a sound!

Lord i’m amazed by you! I will follow God….. i will follow you my Lord and king! I will Move forward

Morning Coffee Revisited: 7/1/14 Warning Signs

mc

“Wisdom will save you from the immoral woman, from the seductive words of the promiscuous woman. She has abandoned her husband and ignores the covenant she made before God. Entering her house leads to death; it is the road to the grave. The man who visits her is doomed. He will never reach the paths of life. Follow the steps of good men instead, and stay on the paths of the righteous. For only the godly will live in the land, and those with integrity will remain in it. But the wicked will be removed from the land, and the treacherous will be uprooted.” (Proverbs 2:16-22 NLT)

A man is driving home on a dark and stormy night and its raining like a monsoon. He comes up on a bright yellow sign with flashing lights that says “road closed bridge washed out.” The man pulls his truck over and sighs in disappointment, “my house is right around the corner on the other side! How am I going to get home now!”

Just then a police officer knocks on his window, the officer ask if he needs help. The Man explains his situation, the officer then directs him on a alternate way home but it will take him an hour to get home. The officer explains its the only way, the man thanks the officer he rolls up his window and thinks ” that river isn’t that deep I have a 4 wheel drive! I’ve crossed it before!” He looks back at the yellow sign. He takes a deep breath turns his truck around and calls his wife to let her know he will be late coming home.

Sometime later another man with a truck is driving up the same road. He sees the bright yellow sign with flashing lights. He pulls over sighs deeply and ponders what to do. He also lives right around the corner on the other side of the river. The police officer from earlier advises him of the alternate route. When the man realizes it will take him an hour to get home he tells the officer that’s ok I’ll find my own way! And drives off pass the officer and the sign.

The next day The man who took the long way home is awakened by the sound of helicopters. He gets dressed  and walks outside, he sees emergency vehicles at the corner. The man runs down and asks “what happened?” The offer tells him they are searching for a man in a truck that drove into the river last night. His wife called him in saying he never made it home.

God will send us warning signs. He will also give us the wisdom to make the right choice. Take heed to the waning signs God gives you. If you ignore them it will lead you to an end you don’t want!

Morning Coffee 1/20/16 Just Who Do You Think You Are?

the new mc banner

1 Then the LORD answered Job from the whirlwind: 2 “Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorant words? 3 Brace yourself like a man, because I have some questions for you, and you must answer them. 4 “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much. – Job 38:1-4 NLT

Hello family, Job  began to smell himself and he defiantly questioned God. Well……. God came down and put him in his place. Sometimes we forget who we are and we (myself included) try and tell God how it is or do what we want to do.

In at the foundation of our Christian walk is servanthood Christ lived it right down to His last breath on the cross. We are now following in his footsteps. It does not matter what university or seminary you Got you papers from, it does not matter what title you hold. We are servants. God may have you as the worship leader of a local church body you are still a servant. If He (God) tells you to play a certain  song but you don’t like it, guess what? Its in your best interest to play the song. Whatever position God placed you in, You are His servant and you obey What is instructed to you if not you will reap the consequences.

God wants to use us and work through us. Things are so much easier when we put aside ourselves and say ok lord this what you want ill do it! Remember God has seen it all. And he will use us to accomplish His will. It is our best interest to remember that we simply servants in his kingdom.  Don’t hinder what God Wants to do!

Morning Coffee 1/19/16 Crossroads

the new mc banner

16 This is what the LORD says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’ – Jeremiah 6:16 NLT

Hello family, as we progress on this road of life, we will come to a crossroads (intersection). We will either turn down the new road or we will cross over and continue on the road we are on. We don’t know where ether of the roads end. But we have GPS, the Holy Spirit.

Israel was at a crossroads, they could have taken heed to the words that the Lord spoke through Jeremiah, but no they took the path they wanted to take and destruction was their end. God will warn us before we make a mistake. If He says turn left we need to turn left no matter what we want to do.

Our pride, and stubborn attitudes will keep us from turning when we need to turn or stopping when we need to stop. At that point God is not going to force us to do anything. He will let us run headlong into the brick wall He warned us about over and over. I’m tired of brick walls! Ive hit enough of them to build a city!

I am at a crossroads in my life, Before i make a tenth of a hundredth of a step in either direction. I will consult my GPS God’s Proven Spirit. In January of 2015 i was at a crossroads and directed down a path. That path has been fruitful. Now in January of 2016 I am at another crossroads. I will follow the voice of truth, i will submit my plans for His. I will “Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it.”

Morning Coffee Revisited: 2/11/15 Nothing To Fear!

mc

“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!” (Psalms 46:1-3 NLT)

Hello family! We really have nothing to fear. No matter what is going on in the world around us we don’t have anything to fear! Why? Because God has us in his hand. Ebola, ISIS, natural or manmade disasters or anything else is not bigger than our God! Know that whatever comes your way God has you in His hand. Just trust Him! He is the only constant in an ever changing world!
