Morning Coffee 11/30/15 Access Granted!

mc

50 Then Jesus shouted out again, and he released his spirit. 51 At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart, – Matthew 27:50-51 NLT

Hello family, This past week i took a break from writing to refuel and re-focus. God showed me something in that time. We sometimes over complicate getting into God’s presence. We try to hold our self to a standard that God did not set for us. We let our mistakes get in the way, we let our regrets hold us back. We will think we can’t move into God’s presence because we missed the 6am prayer time we said we told God we would stick to.

Before Christ paid the ultimate and final sacrifice for our sins, Getting to God was complicated. There were all these rituals and ceremonies to do, the sacrifices had to be done a certain way. Only certain priest could go  behind the vail into the holy of holies where Gods presence was. But when Christ breathed is last that thick curtain tore in two from top to bottom, giving us full access to God’s presence!

15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. 16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. – Hebrews 4:15-16 NLT

You need God? Access is granted! Have you been spiritually empty and you need our heavenly father to pour into you? Access is granted! Need Forgiveness of unreported sins? Access is granted! Our heavenly father has a no door policy, Whoever needs time with Him he is more than available!

Morning Coffee Revisited: 2/7/15 Be Ready (In Season And Out) Pt 2

mc

Morning Coffee 2/7/15 Be Ready (In Season And Out) Pt 2

“In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.” (2 Timothy 4:1-5 NLT)

Hello family! Every so often I am asked in the middle of the week to open service. The brother who normally opens will sometimes jokingly (but not joking) come up to me and ask “you got a morning coffee ready?” right before service starts. My first reaction is panic because I am not ready. I am not thinking “God could use me today!” I have been prepared every time I opened service but one Sunday I God could see fit to use me on the spot. I won’t have a week to prepare, I can’t freeze up with fear! I have to be ready! I have to be prepared! God gave me the weapon, I need to be training with it!

Morning Coffee Revisited: 2/6/15 Be Ready (Equip Your Self) Pt 1

mc

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT)

Hello family! When we read, study and meditate on God’s word it is not just for us. God wants us to take what he deposited in us and share it with the world. Every scripture is a weapon against the powers of darkness. In order to be an effective we must study the weapon. When samurais are in training they are told that the sword is a part of them. It is not some foreign object. Daily they train with their sword so they will be perfect when it is time to battle.

God’s word is supposed to flow through us. Just like the samurais becomes one with the sword we are to be one with God’s word. It is not just for the improvement of your life but for others as well. God gave you the weapon learn it and use it!

Morning Coffee Revisited: 11/24/14 Picking Fights And Thinking You Are All That

cropped-mc.png

“Anyone who loves to quarrel loves sin; anyone who trusts in high walls invites disaster.” (Proverbs 17:19 NLT)

Hello family I hope you are well. God lead me to the scripture, when I read it, it spoke to me. When I was I kid I would sometimes stir up arguments with someone who was bothering me. I wanted them to feel how I felt so when they were leaving me alone I would annoy them and try to start an argument with them. When they walked away frustrated, and angry I felt justified. But it was wrong I had stooped to their level and did the exact opposite of what God wants. There is no justification for stirring up trouble, God does not operate in chaos or quarrels. The shoes of peace are a part of the armor of God (see Ephesians 6:15) so let us wear them and operate in them.

“Pride comes before the fall” This oh so true, if we accomplish something and them go around bragging on how good we are and how we think we are invincible. Think about goliath, a giant with great strength and skill, bought down by a Sheppard boy and stone. When we trust in our accomplishments and our self, a downfall is sure to follow.

“Anyone who loves to quarrel loves sin; anyone who trusts in high walls invites disaster.” (Proverbs 17:19 NLT)

Morning Coffee Revisited: 11/23/14 A Thanksgiving Feast For Our Soul

cropped-mc.png

Morning Coffee 11/23/14  A Thanksgiving Feast For Our Soul

“Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.  Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.  And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”( Hebrews 10:23-25 NLT)

Hello family. For us in the United States, thanksgiving is a day when we gather together with family to feast and fellowship and give thanks. For most it is the largest meal of the year, a feast that leaves most of us immobilized by a full belly. But did you know that there is a feast of greater fulfillment that is available to us at least once a week at our local church or in a small cell group? It’s called bible study.

It is good we attend Sunday service where we are feed the word. But when we gather together with other believers and sit and study and discus Gods word, there is a rich spiritual buffet that is laid out for our spirit to feast on. When we gather together to dig deeper into God we will grow more. Because when we study Gods word together we can uplift each other. Through the Holy Spirit we will get deeper understanding of God’s word that we wouldn’t normally get from a Sunday sermon.

Nobody can grow in isolation, if we isolate our self, when tough times hit we won’t have the spiritual encouragement we get from other believers who more than likely have gone through or are going through the same thing we are going through. So I want to encourage you got to your churches bible study. If there is not one, talk to your pastor about starting one. If your church has small group bible studies in the homes of other fellow church members find one and go to it. And if God leads you, gather together a few other strong believers and start a weekly bible study. The point is to gather together with other believers, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit build each other up spiritually, because a time is coming when we will need to draw on the spiritual knowledge we gain when we study together with other believers in Christ. We make time for everything else, make time to get together and study and learn the word of God.

Morning Coffee Revisited: 3/11/15 No Explanation! (Just Faith)

mc

“To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible.” – Thomas Aquinas

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation. By faith, we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.” (Hebrews 11:1-3 NLT)

Hello family! I am I big weather buff. I love to read and study about natural disasters. So our family TV is often on the weather channel. One night I was watching a show called Ten most extreme places. The show covered extreme weather around the United States. One story caught my attention. A family of five that survived the monster tornado that demolished Moore Oklahoma on May 20th 2013. This tornado was as strong as tornados get The family took shelter in a bathtub since they had no basement or storm shelter. The father and mother described what it was like. He said everything around them was being torn up, but he felt a force pushing the tub down. The mother gave credit where credit was due. She said the Lord was holding the tub down! That is why all survived!

You can’t explain that with science! When event’s happen that blow our minds and it seems impossible Just know that it was God! When we trust in God we don’t need an explanation to put our conscience at ease. We just put our faith in Him and know that no matter what happens in our life we will be alright!

No explanation! Just Faith!

Morning Coffee Revisited: 6/10/15 Where Is Your Focus?

mc

“Seek the Kingdom of God[a] above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” (Matthew 6:33 NLT)

Hello, family, we do not seek God and his kingdom for our own selfish gain. In other words, we don’t go after God because of what he can give us for our own benefit! This is not about us! We gave 100% of our life over to God. So now we must do what he expects of us and not come running to Him afterwards saying “ok God I did what you asked me to do where’s my cookie?” No! We don’t do that! Yes God does bless obedience but that should not be the reason we obey!

God knows every need and want you will ever have. He will provide for all our needs and some of our wants. Don’t treat God like the candy man, He is not a treat machine! Seek God because you need to know Him more because you need His wisdom walk out the path he has called you to! Seek God and his kingdom because you submitted your life to Him! You gave up your plans for His! Where is your focus?

Morning Coffee 11/20/15 Intentional!

mc

24 We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it. 25 But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.) 26 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. 27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. 28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. 29 For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. – Romans 8:24-29 NLT

Hello family, I know we in the middle of a series But someone needs to hear this! Whatever situation, whatever it is that has got you down! Let it go and give it to God! the situation you are facing is intentional, it is not by mistake! This is to improve you draw you closer to Him. That thing that you can’t find the words to pray for but tear just roll down your cheek, God hears and sees your tears and knows what they mean better than you do! so hold your head up! Your situation is intentional and God designed it for your good! Listen to the song below!

Morning Coffee 11/19/15 The Very Appearance pt1

mc

22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. – 1 Thessalonians 5:22 KJV

Hello family,  Abstain: “to refrain deliberately and often with an effort of self-denial from an action or practice.” When we hear “resist the devil and he will flee from you – James 4:7, we don’t always receive it as a call to action. Typically when i hear resist i think about digging my heals in and bracing for what ever is coming, but it is so much more.

Think of a tug-o-war, two groups of people give their all to keep the other side from pulling them over. If in there you are not just standing their but you and your teammates move in the opposite direction, away from the other team. You are Abstaining from the other team. you see evil coming do ALL YOU CAN to get way from it! if it has half a sent of evil abstain from it! Not just the big things but the tiny innocent looking stuff too!
