Morning Coffee 9/30/15 Under Pressure!

mc

READ PSALM 22!!!

“1 To the Chief Musician. Set to “The Deer of the Dawn.” A Psalm of David. My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? [Why are You so] far from helping Me, [And from] the words of My groaning? 2 O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear; And in the night season, and am not silent. 3 But You [are] holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel. 4 Our fathers trusted in You; They trusted, and You delivered them. 5 They cried to You, and were delivered; They trusted in You, and were not ashamed. – Psalm 22:1-5 NKJV”

Hello family, If there is one person that knows what it is like to be under pressure it is David. He had quite a few enemies. Sometimes he had to run and flee from them. David has wrote many psalms when he was in intense circumstances, but in each one of the psalms he comes to a point where he looks up and declares God as his source. David took comfort in his pressure, knowing that the lord was in full control. And that it will work out for His (God) glory!!!

Yesterday i had to help some upset customers. i felt the pressure on me. i wanted to bail out of the call but God whispered in my ear hang in there i am using this to grow you for my purpose and glory. I finished the calls and helped the customers. God is using this job He gave me for His purpose it amazes me how he uses ever thin in our lives for His glory.

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 9/29/15 Assumptions!

mc

“19 Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; 20 for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. – James 1:19-20 ESV”

Hello family, On Sunday a fellow brother bought the message. It was about expectations. The expectations we have come from our assumptions. A lot of the times that we get upset are because reality did not meet our assumptions. So we feel offended we feel it should have gone our way.

In order to avoid these assumption, we (myself included) can stop trying to push our agenda in the situation. We need to slow down and hear and receive all the info on the situation. On Facebook i read a quote that is very true. “The biggest communication problem is we do not listen to understand. We listen to reply.” Why because at that moment we are consumed with making our point and not hearing and receiving what the other person is saying (i am guilty). Lets limit our assumptions this week. Lets slow down and hear and listen to how God wants us to move.

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee Revisited 2/14/15 Recognizing who Jesus Truly Is (An Out Pouring From The Heart)

mc

Read Luke 7:36-50

Then Jesus told him this story: “A man loaned money to two people—500 pieces of silver to one and 50 pieces to the other. But neither of them could repay him, so he kindly forgave them both, canceling their debts. Who do you suppose loved him more after that? ”Simon answered, “I suppose the one for whom he canceled the larger debt.” That’s right,” Jesus said. Then he turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Look at this woman kneeling here. When I entered your home, you didn’t offer me water to wash the dust from my feet, but she has washed them with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You didn’t greet me with a kiss, but from the time I first came in, she has not stopped kissing my feet. You neglected the courtesy of olive oil to anoint my head, but she has anointed my feet with rare perfume. “I tell you, her sins—and they are many—have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.” Then Jesus said to the woman, “Your sins are forgiven.” (Luke 7: 41-48 NLT)

Hello family! Jesus was invited to dinner at the house of Simon the Pharisee. While dinner was in progress a woman with many sin came in and anointed Jesus with expensive perfume and started washing his feet with her hair and tears. Simon did not see Jesus the way the sinful woman did. Simon just saw Jesus from the surface and was probably trying to figure him out. But this woman truly saw who Jesus was and she poured out her heart to him. Because of her faith her sins were forgiven.

Don’t see with eyes to shallow to see the great opportunity before you. This woman had a many sins and she saw Jesus as her redeemer so she poured out with thankfulness from here heart. Simon the Pharisee didn’t truly see what Jesus could do for him.

When you have true thankfulness it shows and it comes from the heart!

Morning Coffee 9/27/15 Keep Going!!!!!

“9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. – Galatians 6:9 NLT

11 We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, 12 always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. – Colossians 1:11-12 NLT

Hello family, One thing God is teaching me through this new Job is perseverance. God will bless us with something that we have been wanting that does not mean that some test and growing moments won’t come your way through that blessing. Everything  (Yes Everything!) that God allows to pass through our lives in meant in some way shape or form to grow us into whom God wants us to be!

You may have prayed for a wife. Now you have her and God is using her to push you out of your comfort zone into a deeper realm in your walk with Christ. You prayed for that Godly husband. now he is encouraging you to become more organized! Just because the heat is turned up does not mean we jump out of the oven.

Whatever that blessing is that you asked for, it is meant to be a blessing in your life. So much more than just to put a smile on your face. God will not give you something that will destroy you. He gives you that blessing because it is ultimately designed to draw you closer to him and not away.

When the newness fades don’t run look to God and get to work!

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 9/26/15 Panic!!!

mc

24 “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. 25 “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life–whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? – Matthew 6:24-25 NLT

Hello family, when we panic, we lose sight of the fact that it was God and God alone who got us to where we are today. When we worry, panic and stress, we make it seem like the current situation is too big, too complicated for God to handle. I panicked this past week. A week ago i was in a ranking that allowed me to have a better selection of hours to work. Well on thursday my ranking dropped and i panicked. I did a lot of stressing and worrying, God simply sad to me “I got you! Go and just do your best and let me handle the rest.”

Even as i write this devotion i am fighting thoughts of fear. I cannot let then consume my mind. I must and i will trust God in this situation that my mind is making bigger that what it really is. This Job is not my master, God is! I will not elevate it above Him! “The earth is His footstool” He is above every circumstance that could ever come up!

Morning Coffee 10/11/14 Why Are You Listening To The People? (Are They God?)

cropped-mc.png

“Then Saul admitted to Samuel, “Yes, I have sinned. I have disobeyed your instructions and the  lord ’s command, for I was afraid of the people and did what they demanded.  But now, please forgive my sin and come back with me so that I may worship the lord .” But Samuel replied, “I will not go back with you! Since you have rejected the lord ’s command, he has rejected you as king of Israel.” As Samuel turned to go, Saul tried to hold him back and tore the hem of his robe.  And Samuel said to him, “The  lord  has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to someone else—one who is better than you.  And he who is the Glory of Israel will not lie, nor will he change his mind, for he is not human that he should change his mind!” Then Saul pleaded again, “I know I have sinned. But please, at least honor me before the elders of my people and before Israel by coming back with me so that I may worship the lord your God.”  So Samuel finally agreed and went back with him, and Saul worshiped the lord. (1 Samuel 15:24-31 NLT)

Good Morning or afternoon or what time of day you are reading this! We are back in 1 Samuel 15 Saul Has just confessed his sin and now he is beginning to reap the consequences.

Saul valued the opinions of the people more than he valued God’s commands. Saul did not completely destroy the Amalekites as he was instructed to do. He keep the best spoils and spared king Agag. Because of his disobedience Saul lost his anointing as king God had choose another.

Saul said he was afraid of the people, why fear them and do what they demand, are they God? When God gives you specific instructions, you carry them out to the finest detail! Pay no mind to anyone that tells you anything contrary to what God told you to do! We sometimes put way to much value in people,

We can be on the right track, doing what God told us to do. And people will say “no do it this way” at that moment we need to disregard what they are saying and continue with what God told us to do. People are not God, we should never fear or respect anyone more than God.

Disobedience to God is costly, in saul’s case it cost his his anointing as king. He put the people above God and he reaped the consequences! Don’t fear and respect anyone more than you fear and respect God. Why Are You Listening To The People? Are They God?

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 9/24/15 The Heritage of the Righteous and the Calamity of the Wicked Pt3

mc

“23 The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. 24 Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the LORD holds them by the hand. 25 Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread. 26 The godly always give generous loans to others, and their children are a blessing. 27 Turn from evil and do good, and you will live in the land forever. – Psalm 37:23-27 NLT

Hello family, This is your heritage if your life submitted to God. Family God called to the nation of Israel to follow Him. He told them to call on Him for everything they needed. When they followed God things were good when they did what they wanted to do things went down hill. Verse 23 really encourages me. God is directing what i see and i don’t see. even when i stumble He is there putting me back in line drawing me closer to Him. I love the fact that God delights in every detail of my life! And as i think back it is evident, even in my childhood. Stay close and get closer to God family! You do not want the calamity of the wicked but the heritage of the righteous.

Morning Coffee 9/23/15 The Heritage of the Righteous and the Calamity of the Wicked Pt2

“9 For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the LORD will possess the land. 10 Soon the wicked will disappear. Though you look for them, they will be gone. 11 The lowly will possess the land and will live in peace and prosperity. 12 The wicked plot against the godly; they snarl at them in defiance. 13 But the Lord just laughs, for he sees their day of judgment coming. – Psalm 37:9-13 NLT

Hello family, There is no good end for the wicked. All who refuse to submit to the Lord will find a bitter end. They may seem to prosper now but their path is not one that is not of God. Only those who have humbled themselves before God will prosper. All the wicked plans will fail! “17 But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the LORD; their vindication will come from me. I, the LORD, have spoken! – Isaiah 54:17 NLT Calamity is all that awaits anyone who refuses to follow God!

Morning Coffee 9/22/15 The Heritage of the Righteous and the Calamity of the Wicked Pt1

mc

“1 A psalm of David. Don’t worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. 2 For like grass, they soon fade away. Like spring flowers, they soon wither. 3 Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. 4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires. 5 Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you. – Psalm 37:1-5 NLT

Hello family, There is a path that God has for each of us to walk. On this walk we will see many things that we desire that we see the unsaved (wicked) have that we don’t. David lays it out perfectly for us on how we should respond. “3 Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.” Don’t go and try this worlds methods of getting things done! But look to God for your instruction.

This world may look like its on the right track but all that looks good ain’t Good! We know and hear Gods voice when He tells us to do some thing. Don’t be disobedient and do the opposite! Or not move at all “17 Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it. – James 4:17 NLT” God gave us that instruction for a reason, it is in our best interest to obey.

“4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires.” If we find our delight from God our focus will shift from our hearts desires. Our Focus will be on our great God. look at what He has done for you already, be thankful and praise Him! This will encourage you to follow Him all the more. And when He instructs you to do something you will be in position to hear Him and take the appropriate action. When we are obedient to the Lord he will bless us with our hearts desires.

“5 Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you.” Simply put, let the activities of your day be guided by the Lord. What ever you do, do it for His glory! Let everything you do be submitted under His direction. And he will give you the strength to accomplish them.

Morning Coffee Revisited 9/13/14 The Ministry That God Has Given You

mc

“And now, a word to you who are elders in the churches. I, too, am an elder and a witness to the sufferings of Christ. And I, too, will share in his glory when he is revealed to the whole world. As a fellow elder, I appeal to you:  Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God.  Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example.  And when the Great Shepherd appears, you will receive a crown of never-ending glory and honor.” (1 Peter 5:1-4 NLT)

We discussed this in my church Bible study a few weeks ago and God bought it back to my remembrance. Peter is writing to the Christians in Asia Minor (Western Turkey Today). In this part of his letter his letter, he is speaking to the elders that are over the various churches in Asia Minor. One thing my pastor pointed out in bible study was what Peter said in the first verse. “And now, a word to you who are elders in the churches. I, too, am an elder and a witness to the sufferings of Christ. And I, too, will share in his glory when he is revealed to the whole world. As a fellow elder, I appeal to you:” (1 Peter 5:1) Peter does not just start rambling off a bunch of do’s and don’ts. No! He establishes his credibility for what he is a about to say and who he is.

Peter encourages the elders over the churches to be a good steward over the flock God placed them over. It was not smooth sailing for the churches in Asia Minor at this time, Peter need to give them some encouragement and motivation. Peter also tells the elders put their heart into taking care of the church, don’t do it with an attitude of here we go again but do it wholeheartedly. Peter tells them don’t become a tyrant over the people and to lead by example with their own lives.

Has God given you a ministry? It does not matter the size or location, whatever that ministry is, be a good steward over it. Whether you are the pastor of a ten thousand seat arena or God had you start a teleconference bible study. We are to do the best we can at overseeing the ministries God has given us (this includes my self with morning coffee) If we put our whole heart into our ministry and we are a good steward over it, God will reward us.
