Morning Coffee Revisited11/14/14 Disciplined

“All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.  So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing.  I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.” (1 Corinthians 9:25-17 NLT)

Good day family! Being a follower of Christ requires us to be disciplined. We must have self control. We cannot go around and do has we please. We must live submitted to the will of God.

Being disciplined we will have to train our self with the word of God. As Paul said, athletes train themselves to win a prize. Well, our prize is dwelling with God for all eternity. So every day we wake let’s put down any reckless behavior. “So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.  Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming.    You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world.  But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language.  Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds.  Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.” (Colossians 3:5-10 NLT)
