Morning Coffee 6/17/15 Half Ready Pt 1

mc

“As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, you shall not defraud, honor your father and mother. “Teacher,” he declared, “all these I have kept since I was a boy.” Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” At this the man’s face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth.” (Mark 10:17-20 NIV)

Hello, family, I know we may have read or heard this passage a thousand times but please, clear your mind and be open to receive. There will be times in our life when it is time for the next step. We make the physical changes, but we lack on the spiritual changes need for the next level.

The young rich ruler had the qualifications of the commandments down pack. He knew and obeyed all of them. However when it came time to let go of his earthly possessions he was not ready. He was not spiritually ready. He did not want to leave his comfort zone.

We sometimes become too comfortable the basic physical things in our life. When God calls us into a deeper more personal level we pull back because we don’t want to leave where we are at. God is saying I’m glad you got the basics down pack, but I need you to take this next step or steps. Right now you are only half ready and I cant take you to the next level until you step forward.
