Morning Coffee 11/26/14 An Atmosphere Of Praise

cropped-mc.png

God day family I pray you are well. I am living this devotion as I write it. A week ago I was spiritually battling a lot and God spoke through my mom. I needed to play worship music during the times that I knew there would be an attack or temptation. Well for the past hour I have be writing and nothing but worship and praise music is playing, the TV is off, there is nothing else in the house that is playing except the music playing from my laptop. All the heaviness that I felt melted off. And I felt the presence of God come in and shift the atmosphere.

Our minds can only focus on one thing at a time. We can’t feel sad and happy at the same. Got negative thoughts or fell weighed down by life? Put one some worship/ praise music, and create an atmosphere of praise!

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 9/29/14 Addicted!

cropped-mc.png

Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.  Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given you.  Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living. (Romans 6:16-18 NLT)

Good day family I pray you are in good spirits.  Life can really beat us up. Situations and problems arise that sometimes causes us to seek refuge and relief from other sources other than God. We can get addicted to these earthly sources of relief. For me it was pornography, for you, it may be something else like food, drugs, TV.  Anything can become an addiction, it does not have to be the “big three” (sex, drugs, alcohol).

An addiction of this world can never be satisfied, its hunger will never stop. The more we feed the addiction the stronger it gets, It will pull us further and further away from the One we should be addicted to, and that is Jesus Christ. “Then God gave the people all these instructions: “I am the lord your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt, the place of your slavery. “You must not have any other god but me. (Exodus 20:3 NLT)

Anything that pulls us away from God is a sin. If we do not turn from it, it will lead to destruction. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23 NLT)

There is freedom from the addictions of this earthly life. Christ offers that freedom to us, He was crucified for our sins then three days later rose with all power so that we would not have to go to hell when we die. All we have to do is accept him as Lord of our life. . “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.  God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants. ” (John 3:16-21 NLT)

My friend Christ is knocking at the door of your heart. All you have to do is let him in. “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.  As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”    For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,  for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:9-13 NIV)

Come and pray with me even if you were once with Christ and strayed away. You can come back. Just cry out to Jesus, you don’t need big words, just and open heart to let Christ in. Let’s pray. Lord, I know I have sinned against you. I know you have died on the cross for my sins and rose again. I need you I’m sorry for sinning against you. Please, Lord; forgive me I will follow all the days of my life in Jesus name Amen!

If you just gave your life to Christ you are now a citizen of the kingdom of God welcome to the family of God. If it was rededication welcome back! I want to encourage you to find a bible based church. Talk to God he is listening, He hears you, He is now your addiction. Ask him to give you good Christian friends I warn you your old addiction will still try and rise up. You may stumble and fall, but you get back up repent ask God to forgive you and turn back to God. Don’t go back to the places that trigger that addiction. Ask god to completely change your Habits, He has and is still doing it for me. So He will do it for you!

If you need prayer I am here leave a comment in the comments section or email me at morningcoffeedevo@gmail.com I will pray for you!

Morning Coffee 7/21/14 Don’t Be In A Rush!

mc

“Jesus continued: “There was a man who had two sons. The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’ So he divided his property between them. “Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need.    So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.” (Luke 15:11-16 NIV)

Yes, this is the story of the prodigal son. Yes, I know you have heard it and read it a thousand times! Put what you know about the story on the back burner for now. And see it from a different point of view.

Normally we would see the child get their inheritance when the father’s life was coming to an end. The father would pass the inheritance on to the children. But here, the younger son comes to his father and ask for his inheritance. The father gives his son his inheritance. And what does the son do with his inheritance? He squanders it. So now there is a famine in the country where he is at. And now he can’t provide for himself. What if he (the son) would have waited longer? What if he would have been more patient? I know this; he would not be in the situation he is now!

God has some great things for us. But at the present time we may not be ready to receive them. The Lord wants us to do some more growing and maturing before we receive our Blessing. So if you haven’t received the things that God said He would give you, take a deep breath and relax. Ask God what things need to change, so we can appreciate and take care of that blessing when He does give it to us. Don’t be in a rush! Have patience! In due time, God will give it to you.

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 1/2/15 Your Reputation!

mc

“Choose a good reputation over great riches; being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold.” (Proverbs 22:1 NLT)

Hello, Family!!! As I am writing this devotion I am thinking about how this scripture applies to my life. It definitely applies, I am not rich in money or possessions. But one thing I do have is a good reputation. God has used my gifting’s with technology to bless others. Over time, they began to call on me more and more. And through me helping some became family. We may have met to conduct business, but God developed it pass that. There love trust and respect and friendship is something that no amount of money can buy!

Morning Coffee 4/10/14 Quality Time

cropped-mc.png

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” (Rev 3:20) NIV

We are now fourteen years into the new millennium. It has brought many advances in technology at a speed never seen before. These advances and updates are supposed to make our life easier and more enjoyable. And, for the most part, they do but some of these advances are making us busier than we have ever been. Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Blogger, Pinterest, Android, Iphone, Ipad, etc. (the list goes on)

I am not knocking any of these things (I use most of them) they are great tools. The question is, are these tools taking up valuable time that God wants to use to speak to us? (I’ll put myself out there.) I love video games and I have had more than my fair share of them in my life. I sometimes spend hours late at night playing as much as I can. And when I was not playing them I was thinking about them. In church service, I would be building strategies on how I would get my madden 13 team to the next level when I should have been paying attention to the pastor. (Sorry pastor I’m more focused now)

Over the past few months, God has been showing me signs that I need to put down the controller and pick up his Word. God has a plan for my life and if I am going to fulfill it I need to be obedient to his call. God doesn’t want anything in the way. Exodus 34:14 (NIV) “Do not worship any other God, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.” God wants a relationship with us and he will do whatever he needs to do to get our attention even if it means breaking our Madden 13 and 12. Jesus is knocking on the door of your heart today will you let him in? Will you submit your plans for his? I encourage you to think about what things and/or people are taking up time that God desires to spend with us. Don’t let him have to remove the things that you enjoy in order for him to get your attention, because he will if he needs to. “Our God Is a jealous God” let’s Give him the QUALITY time he deserves.

God Bless & Much Love

“As they sat down to eat, he took the bread and blessed it. Then he broke it and gave it to them. Suddenly, their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And at that moment he disappeared! They said to each other, “Didn’t our hearts burn within us as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?” And within the hour they were on their way back to Jerusalem. There they found the eleven disciples and the others who had gathered with them, who said, “The Lord has really risen! He appeared to Peter.” (Luke 24:30-34 NLT)

Hello family, sometimes we can be like the two followers of Jesus. We can get so lost in feeling hopeless that we can forget what God told us and how He poured into us! We may think that God is no longer there because we don’t see Him working. He is there with us. It is Only after the storm is over do we see how He was right there with us leading and guiding our every step. God is with you, He is saying “I Am with you”

Morning Coffee 5/25/15 I Am Here

“In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.  I will be found by you,” says the Lord. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.” (Jeremiah 29:12-14 NLT)

Hello, family, how bad do you want Him? How badly do you need Him? I woke up this morning expecting an awesome experience with God! And that is exactly what I got. The more you leave a tea bag in hot water the stronger the flavor will be when you drink it! If you take the tea bag out after a short period you will get some flavor but you will miss out on the full richness of the tea. But let it steep and you will reap all the benefits of that tea. It is the same with seeking after God. The more we sit in His presence the more we will be sensitive to the way He operates.

Sit and steep in God

“I am yours; rescue me! For I have worked hard at obeying your commandments.” (Psalm 119:94 NLT)

Hello family, “I am yours!” that is a statement of total surrender! “I have worked hard at obeying your commandments!” This scripture hits home I can visualize the writer going after God with everything within him. God wants us to chase after Him! He wants us to pursue Him, not the half way but all the way! Sometimes God will hold us in an idle state until we seek Him and not everything else! “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7 NLT)

Morning Coffee 5/23/15 Operating in unity

mc

“But as the believers rapidly multiplied, there were rumblings of discontent. The Greek-speaking believers complained about the Hebrew-speaking believers, saying that their widows were being discriminated against in the daily distribution of food. So the Twelve called a meeting of all the believers. They said, “We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program. And so, brothers, select seven men who are well respected and are full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility. Then we apostles can spend our time in prayer and teaching the word.” Everyone liked this idea, and they chose the following: Stephen (a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit), Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas of Antioch (an earlier convert to the Jewish faith). These seven were presented to the apostles, who prayed for them as they laid their hands on them.” (Acts 6:1-6 NLT)

Hello, family, The early church was growing and issues arose About how the Hebrew widows were treated unfairly when food was distributed. They didn’t make a big fuss over it and place blame. No! they got together and with the Leading of the Holy spirit they resolved the problem!

Growing up in the church I have seen issues go unresolved because the church body did not want to come together and resolve the issue. Each side was too caught up in being right and getting their point across! Problems don’t get solved when there is division among the people. This applies not just to the church body but to every other aspect of life. If there is division nothing will get done!
