“As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at his tax collector’s booth. “Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him. So Matthew got up and followed him. Later, Matthew invited Jesus and his disciples to his home as dinner guests, along with many tax collectors and other disreputable sinners. But when the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with such scum? When Jesus heard this, he said, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do.” Then he added, “Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices. For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.” (Matthew 9:9-13 NLT)
Hello, family the above scripture really hit me hard the title hit me even harder. Over the past few weeks, God has been dealing with me about my attitude toward non-Christians. I did not view them through the eyes of Christ. Instead of looking at them with Love I looked at them with a judgmental attitude. I put up a wall of defense and distanced myself. This is not right! The main purpose for Christ shedding his blood is for us to share what Christ as done for us, plant the seed of the gospel in them so they can be lead to Christ. How can we show Christ Love to the world if we have a judgmental attitude! Hate the sin, not the sinner! After all, we were not always saved. We were once lost too! It is good to minister to a fellow believer, but it is better if you minister to a lost soul. When we operate in the Love of Christ, we will leave an impact on that person we will have planted a seed in them that will grow. God will place in our path people that need to be ministered to. Some will have a mouth that will make a sailor blush, Love them like Jesus! Some will be living a homosexual lifestyle! Love them like Jesus! Some will be atheist! Love them like Jesus! Hate the sin, not the sinner! Remember you did not save yourself, you were once lost too!
Much Love & God Bless
