Morning Coffee 4/30/15 The Fatal Flaw (A New Angle On Job)

mc

“God might kill me, but I have no other hope. I am going to argue my case with him.” Job 13:15 NLT)

Hello family, you may heard the story of Job many times. We see how he resisted satan’s temptation to get him to curse God. In bible study this past Wednesday, I saw Job’s story from a different angle. Job had self-righteous pride, he was going to make his before God about how he did not deserve to go through all this calamity! Job had no case to argue. Job’s attitude after God questions him is totally different. God saw a fatal flaw in Job that needs to be removed. And in order to remove Job’s self-righteous pride, God had to take him through some stuff!

Everyday God is shaping and molding us into who He wants us to be. There will be time he will put us in the fire to bring out any impurities that could do more damage if left in. When placed in trying situations don’t get caught up in how you don’t deserve this treatment! Consult God with a humble attitude and ask Him what is it you want me to learn this situation. God could be trying to remove a fatal flaw!

Morning Coffee 4/29/15 When God Is In It! (One Year!)

mc

“The Lord will guarantee a blessing on everything you do and will fill your storehouses with grain. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.” (Deuteronomy 28:8 NLT)

Hello family, I as I sat down to write God bought to my attention that I had been writing Morning Coffee Devotions for a year! Wow, one full year! I have to be honest when God planted the thought in my head to start this daily devotional, I was not fully onboard. I looked too much at what I thought I could not do! But on April 9th 2014 the first of many devotions was emailed to a small group of friends and family. God took over from there. The email list grew, I started posting it on Facebook and twitter. A month later with the help and guidance of my pastor I set up a WordPress blog for it! And even a book is in the works! Wow, one year and still going! I am honored, humbled and just blown away how God has used this ministry.

I am reminded of the words to the song It’s Not Over by Israel Houghton. “When God Is In It There Is No Limit!” There were time I thought morning coffee had run its course. Times I thought the coffee pot was empty! But God showed me different! “When God is in it there is no limit!” When God plants a desire in you, go with it just follow His lead! He will grow you and others around you!

Morning Coffee 4/28/15 Get Up!

mc

“A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.” (Psalm 6:10-11 NLT)

Hello family, I used to wonder why farmers got up at three a.m. or four a.m. to start work. Because there are many things to get done and time is precious! If they decided to roll out of bed when the sun came up they would never be productive they would run out of time to work. God got me up at 5 am to write this devotion. Why? Because there is a lot He has for me to do today. To be honest I like writing early. I won’t be stressing because or having to re-plan my week because I slept in.  Yes Bed & Pillow Ministries and Church Of Warm & Toasty feel good but there is a price to pay for staying in them too long! We will find ourselves robbed of many things.

Morning Coffee 4/27/15 No Better Place!

mc

“The one thing I ask of the Lord, the thing I seek most is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple. For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock. Then I will hold my head high above my enemies who surround me..” (Psalm 27:4-6 NLT)

Hello family, when I read this I think of a little child running to it parents for protection. As far as that child is concerned the best place to be is wrapped up in arms of their mother or father. What better place is there for us than dwelling in God’s presence? And letting Him impart wisdom and understanding to us! Where God is we find all we need! David just wanted to be with God. When I am dwelling with God nothing else matters! There is no better place!

Morning Coffee 4/25/15 No Weapon (The Full Story) The Benefits Of Serving The Lord

mc

“O storm-battered city, troubled and desolate! I will rebuild you with precious jewels and make your foundations from lapis lazuli. I will make your towers of sparkling rubies, your gates of shining gems, and your walls of precious stones. I will teach all your children, and they will enjoy great peace.” (Isaiah 54:11-14 NLT)

Hello family, we are concluding our journey through Isaiah 54. If you are just joining us please go back and read morning coffee 4/23/15 and 4/24/15 so you can get the full message.

Read Isaiah 54:11-17

God has told Israel that he will end their punishment. He has given them His word letting them know that His promises will happen and now He is letting Israel know the benefits they will reap if they serve Him alone. God disciplines us to get our attention so we will turn back to Him. He is saying “Come here! I will restore your brokenness, I will lift you up again! You will be mighty! Yes, challenges will come but you will not be destroyed by them! As long as you serve me!”

“I have created the blacksmith who fans the coals beneath the forge and makes the weapons of destruction. And I have created the armies that destroy. But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!” (Isaiah 54:16-17 NLT) Do you want these benefits? Then stay on the path God set you on! Don’t send yourself back into another dry season! God is showing His mercy don’t take it for granted!

Morning Coffee 4/24/15 No Weapon (The Full Story) Promises

mc

“Just as I swore in the time of Noah that I would never again let a flood cover the earth, so now I swear that I will never again be angry and punish you. For the mountains may move and the hills disappear but even then my faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken,” says the Lord, who has mercy on you.” (Isaiah 54:9-10 NLT)

Hello family, we are continuing our journey through Isaiah 54. If you are just joining us please go back and read morning coffee 4/23/15 so you can get the full message.

Read Isaiah 54:9-10

God wants to know that He does not go back on His promises. He promised Abraham his nation will be blessed and prosperous. (See Genesis 12) That is why God does not completely wipe them out! God had mercy on Israel because of the covenant He made. God is saying come follow me I will restore you, my word is true! Yes, I punished you because you disobeyed me but I am extending my mercy to you so you can be blessed by me! You can take me at my word! Everything else will fail, but my word will stand! Take of the words that God is speaking to you! He will do what He said He will do! Just follow Him!

Morning Coffee 4/23/15 No Weapon (The Full Story) Intro/Homecoming

mc

“But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!” (Isaiah 54:17 NLT)

Hello family, the above scripture is one of the most half quoted scriptures in the bible. All too often the first half is quoted but “These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!” is left off. This scripture is one piece of a bigger masterpiece! There is so much more to be applied, in order to fully appreciate verse 17 we must start at Isaiah 54:1. So get comfortable buckle you seatbelts and keep your hands and feet in the vehicle at all times! Let’s dig in!

Read Isaiah 54:1-8

“Sing, O childless woman, you who have never given birth! Break into loud and joyful song, O Jerusalem, you who have never been in labor. For the desolate woman now has more children than the woman who lives with her husband,” says the Lord. “Enlarge your house; build an addition. Spread out your home, and spare no expense! For you will soon be bursting at the seams. Your descendants will occupy other nations and resettle the ruined cities.”  Israel was being punished because they strayed from God and He wanted them to see the error of their ways. God is using Isaiah to bring them a message of hope and redemption. God is calling Israel back, He encourages them to come back and follow Him! God will show us what will happen when we submit to Him. He is saying you have gone through this time of discipline, I want you to follow me! You will benefit greatly, Come Back Home!

Morning Coffee 4/22/15 Lifted When We Are Surrendered!

mc

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” (Proverbs 25:6-7 NLT)

Hello family, this world promotes self-elevation and reliance upon self to get to the heights we want to be at. In God’s kingdom it is the opposite. To be surrendered is also to be humbled. We stop trying stop promote our self and let God promote us. We will keep bumping and banging our head trying to do it on our own. I need God to give me the strength to get up each day, I need God to direct me on what to do each day, if I don’t I am all over the place and not focused. Our self is limited if we would take a step back and let God lead us we will be lifted so much higher than where our plan would take us. Be open to Gods leading listen and obey His Guidance even in the little things!

Morning Coffee 4/21/15 Receive His Love!

mc

“Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled and became slaves to many lusts and pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy, and we hated each other. But When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. Because of his grace he declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.” (Titus 3:3-7 NLT)

Hello family, God Loves You! I put it in bold because It’s is something I needed to know and Receive! Over the past few days, I have allowed the enemy to keep my focus on the negative, on the things that I am not doing, the things I failed to do each day. I had allowed the lies to take root. God had been showing signs and messages that He loved me and that he was proud of the progress I had made. But I did not see that all I saw was the failure. I had set a standard in my mind that if I didn’t do a set amount of work that God was not pleased with me. God does not base His love on the amount of work I do or how good I do it. If it was we all be in deep trouble. We are going to have bad days, bad weeks, and even bad months. We can’t allow the lies of the enemy to condemns and make us feel defeated. We are not defeated so get up brush off the dust and know God Loves you! Just open your arms and heart and receive His Love God will never stop loving you! He is rooting for you in the smallest good thing you do for Him and He is proud of you! Receive His Love!

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 4/20/15 Feeling Inadequate?

mc

“Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those who are being saved and by those who are perishing. To those who are perishing, we are a dreadful smell of death and doom. But to those who are being saved, we are a life-giving perfume. And who is adequate for such a task as this? You see, we are not like the many hucksters[a] who preach for personal profit. We preach the word of God with sincerity and with Christ’s authority, knowing that God is watching us.” (2 Corinthians 2:15-17 NLT)

Hello family, when I first started writing I did not feel adequate. I did not feel I was qualified to write poems and devotions. Many times I ask God “why do you want me to talk about this I’m still going through this situation?” I didn’t feel qualified, but God qualified me. God equips us to deliver whatever message He need us to deliver. We cannot do it on our own but with God we can. God has qualified you that is all you need. Don’t suppress the message God gave you! Someone needs to hear it! Don’t fell inadequate!

Much Love & God Bless
