“1 Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. 2 But they delight in the law of the lord, meditating on it day and night. 3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. 4 But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind. 5 They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly. 6 For the lord watches over the path of the godly,
but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.” (Psalm 1 NLT)
Hello family! For the next two days we will be in Psalm 1. I read it this morning and it impacted me in a different way. Right now I am really learning to trust God with the unseen things in my life. This Psalm really encouraged me. Today we will cover verses one through three. I pray this blesses you.
Family, we have a reason to be joyful! We do not follow the patterns of this carnal world. But we submit ourselves to a higher authority. Our fulfillment comes from studying meditating on the word of God. We will not draw from another source because we won’t get the spiritual nourishment we need. When we stay in line with God, we won’t lack. All we put our hands to will prosper. This does not mean life will be a bed of roses. That is not what verse three is communicating! What it is saying is this; we will be fruitful in all we do. Why? Because we will have studied and meditated on God’s word. And when we do this we are able to understand and hear God better. The more you spend time with someone the better you know them!
When trials come along, they won’t destroy us, we may have a few battle scares but we will still be standing. Last night we had freezing rain and Ice was coating the trees. This morning there were three large branches that fell off the pine trees in our backyard. The trees are still standing they just lost some branches. But on the other side of the house a much shorter fir tree had completely toppled over roots and all over apart of our driveway. When we follow God we will be like the pine tree that lost a few branches but is still standing. When our sources is the world we will end up like the fir tree that toppled over from lack of good soil.
Part 2 coming tomorrow don’t miss it!
Much Love & God Bless
