Morning Coffee 1/22/15 Give! But Don’t Be Boastful About It!

mc

“Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven.    When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do—blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get.” (Matthew 6:1-2 NLT)

Hello family! It is good to be generous! It is good to share with those who don’t have. What is not good is if we do these things to be seen. If someone does see us doing good deeds, great! But that should not be the reason why we give! We should give because of the love of God that is within us! Getting human recognition is only temporary, they will soon forget your good deeds! When we give with the right heart, God will reward us!

Give! But Don’t Be Boastful About It!

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 1/21/15 We Change! God Is The same!

mc

“I am the lord, and I do not change. That is why you descendants of Jacob are not already destroyed. (Malachi 3:6 NLT)

Hello family! In the Old Testament we see many examples of God executing his judgment on the disobedient. It may seem like God had a short temper and was quick to strike. But that is not so, all through the Old Testament God is merciful to the disobedient! God gave Israel and Judah a lot of time to get their act together before the Assyrian and Babylonian invasions. He was patient with the Israelites when they were coming out of Egypt! I think over my own life and see all the times God was patience with me. So don’t think that God had less mercy in the Old Testament. He has just as much mercy as he does now! God does not change! We do!

Morning Coffee 1/20/15 Got Wisdom? (Use It!)

mc

“Now King Solomon loved many foreign women. Besides Pharaoh’s daughter, he married women from Moab, Ammon, Edom, Sidon, and from among the Hittites.  The lord had clearly instructed the people of Israel, “You must not marry them, because they will turn your hearts to their gods.” Yet Solomon insisted on loving them anyway.  He had 700 wives of royal birth and 300 concubines. And in fact, they did turn his heart away from the lord” (1 Kings 11:1-3 NLT)

Hello family! Solomon was a great king and man of wisdom. But sadly when it came to listening to God about marrying foreign women, Solomon let the wisdom God gave him fly out the window. Solomon acquired great wealth because he asked God for wisdom. But in all his wisdom he failed to listen to God. And that started the decline of the people of Israel.

Family, let’s not get so caught up in what we want, that we throw out the wisdom that God gave us. He does not speak just to hear himself speak. When God warns you about something use the wisdom he gave you and listen!

Morning Coffee 1/19/15 Just Stay Calm!

mc

Morning Coffee 1/19/14 Just Stay Calm!

“As Pharaoh approached, the people of Israel looked up and panicked when they saw the Egyptians overtaking them. They cried out to the lord, and they said to Moses, “Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? Weren’t there enough graves for us in Egypt? What have you done to us? Why did you make us leave Egypt?  Didn’t we tell you this would happen while we were still in Egypt? We said, ‘Leave us alone! Let us be slaves to the Egyptians. It’s better to be a slave in Egypt than a corpse in the wilderness!’” But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again.  The lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” (Exodus 14:10-14 NLT)

Hello family! I have been in the process of taking a big leap of faith! I am applying for a position that will help me become financially independent. There are certain materials and courses that I need. The certification course seemed out of my financial reach but I started the process any way because this is where God is leading me! Well a few days ago I was a little stressed because I did not see how I was going to pay for all the materials and equipment. Well to make a long story short, what was supposed to cost $100 dollars, God bought down to $20! Woooooooooooo Yea!

I was like the people of Israel. I stressed and worried, I said “God where’s the money?! I You Got me in this process, now what do I do?!” He said to me “I got this!” Boy did He ever have it! Family! God will not lead you to a dead-End! He told you to walk this road! He won’t let it be the end of you!  There will be obstacles, don’t turn back keep your eye focused on God your deliverer!

Just Stay Calm!

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 1/18/15 You Are Not Too Good!

mc

Morning Coffee 1/18/14 You Are Not Too Good!

”After washing their feet, he put on his robe again and sat down and asked, “Do you understand what I was doing? You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am. And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet.” (John 13:12-14 NLT)

Good day family! Jesus washing the disciple’s feet is an awesome visual example of Jesus showing that He came to serve! Since He is our perfect example we must follow.

In those times washing of the feet was done by the lowest of the servants in the house. Guest would come from a long journey and the servant would remove their sandals and would wash the guest feet. Remember at this point in history there were no street cleaners and if you didn’t have a horse, you walked everywhere so the feet of a visiting guest were covered with all the dirt and mud from the journey. Foot washing was not a pleasant thing to do!

Now! If Jesus the son of God, humble himself to wash the disciples feet, we must have that same mindset! I don’t care what title you have, what degrees you have hanging on your wall in your office or what seminary you graduated from! You are not too good to get on your knees and serve! If the church bathroom needs cleaning, get some gloves, disinfectant, and a mop and clean away! If God shows you a homeless person that needs help, go and help them! They are human too!

“You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am.    And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet.” (John 13:13-14 NLT)

You are not too good!

Morning Coffee 1/17/15 Never Full

mc

“Just as Death and Destruction are never satisfied, so human desire is never satisfied.” (Proverbs 27:20 NLT)

Hello Family! The appetite of our mortal body will never be full. We can spend all our life satisfying our self with every earthly position, we will still want more! But when we go after what the spirt desires we will find our fill, only then will satisfaction come! More of the things of the world and they pale when compared to the eternal things God offers us!

Morning Coffee 1/16/15 Don’t Forget Your Roots!

mc

“A person who strays from home is like a bird that strays from its nest.” (Proverbs 27:8 NLT)

Hello family! Don’t stray from your foundation. Stay rooted in God. Stay connected with the people who helped you when you were had nothing. Do not forget the lessons you learned. It is good to come back to where you started, it will remind you that you did not get to where you are on your own. It was God who got you here! So don’t stray from him or the Godly people he has placed in your life. They are more valuable than you think. Too many have made it big only to fall because they forgot there roots, they forgot their humble beginnings!

Don’t Forget Your Roots!

Morning Coffee 1/15/15 Opportunity Knocks!

mc

“A wise youth works hard all summer; a youth who sleeps away the hour of opportunity brings shame.” (Proverbs 10:5 NLT 96)

Hello family! Opportunity is knocking at my door! Certain things that I have been desiring have been placed before me! They are not going to be handed to me. I have to do some work in order to fully attain them. God has placed a goal in front of me and given me the drive to do the task I need to do to obtain the goal! Fear has held me back in the past, I cannot let it interfere this time! I would be a fool to let this time of opportunity slip by me! I will take hold of it this time and I am not letting go!

When opportunity knocks at your door, get up and let him in! Don’t let him go next door to your neighbor!

Morning Coffee 1/14/15 Constructive Criticism

mc

“Whoever stubbornly refuses to accept criticism will suddenly be destroyed beyond recovery.” (Proverbs 29:1 NLT)

Hello family! I have a problem receiving criticism. When I complete a project I don’t like it when some comes and goes through it with a fine tooth comb. I don’t like to be wrong! But I cannot improve if my mistakes are not pointed out. I will stay the same or get worse if I am not shown where I am falling short. Yes there is criticism that tears you down. We need to be discerning enough to tell the difference. Don’t be stubborn and close your ears! Be open to receive advice, then take that advice to God and He will tell you what to do with it!

Have an open ear!

Morning Coffee 1/13/15 Be The One!

mc

“Run up and down every street in Jerusalem,” says the lord. “Look high and low; search throughout the city! If you can find even one just and honest person, I will not destroy the city. But even when they are under oath, saying, ‘As surely as the lord lives,’ they are still telling lies!” lord, you are searching for honesty. You struck your people, but they paid no attention. You crushed them, but they refused to be corrected. They are determined, with faces set like stone; they have refused to repent.” (Jeremiah 5:1-3 NLT)

Hello family! Here in Jeremiah chapter five the Lord is commanding Jeremiah to search Jerusalem to see if he can find one up right God seeking person in the city. If there is God will hold back from destroying the city. Sadly there was none!

All it takes is one faithful person, whose heart is after God to change history. God is looking for those who will stand for righteousness, who will not go with the flow of this world (romans 12:2) and only be influenced by the things of God. Be the one that will stand for God no matter what comes your way! Be the one who does not follow the crowd but follows the call of God. In this crazy mixed up world God is calling to anyone with an ear to hear and obey His voice

Rise up! And be the one!
