Morning Coffee 12/3/14 Eyes On The Prize (Five Crowns): Crown Of Glory
Hello Family! We are wrapping up our series on the five crowns that await us in eternity! The next crown is a crown of Glory.
“And now, a word to you who are elders in the churches. I, too, am an elder and a witness to the sufferings of Christ. And I, too, will share in his glory when he is revealed to the whole world. As a fellow elder, I appeal to you: Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God. Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example. And when the Great Shepherd appears, you will receive a crown of never-ending glory and honor.” (1 Peter 5:1-4 NLT)
Christian leaders! There is a crown for you, be diligent and care for the people God has placed under your leadership. Teach and lead with your whole heart! Stay submitted to God as Christ did, lead with not just with your mouth but with your life as well. God has placed you in a position of leadership, you have people following you as you follow Christ, do not lead them astray but lead them to closer and closer to Christ. God is watching how you lead. Your crown of glory is waiting for you!
The five crowns we have just covered are crowns that will last forever. When Christ comes back for us He will reward us according to what we have done. Just as athletes are awarded for their race, we will be rewarded for our pursuit of Christ. This is not a judgment for the sins we committed but it is a reward ceremony (think about the Olympic medal ceremony) for those of us who ran this race with integrity, for those of us who faithfully served Christ and did not fall away. So go and fight the good fight and aim for your crowns in eternity!!!!
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take away your crown.” (Revelation 3:11 NLT)
Much Love & God Bless
