Morning Coffee 10/31/14  His Purpose

Then the  lord  answered Job from the whirlwind: “Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorant words? Brace yourself like a man, because I have some questions for you, and you must answer them. “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much. Who determined its dimensions and stretched out the surveying line? What supports its foundations, and who laid its cornerstone” (Job 38:1-6 NIV)

Good morning family! We are at the start of Job 38, God is putting Job in his place. Job began to have a “why me, attitude” and God had to set things straight, and let him and his friends know that He is God and that all He does is for His purpose and glory.

At times we may feel like Job, we have been serving God and pleasing Him when this calamity comes up out of the blue. We are not always going to have the answer on why God allows certain things to happen in our life. One thing we can take hold of is that all that He does is for His for his purpose and glory. Sometimes we will see the reason for us going through the hard times, other times we may not. That does not give us a right to catch a “why me!” attitude!.

God’s thinks so far beyond us. And He is organizing things that we could not even begin to fathom. So when situations arise out of the blue and you don’t see a clear answer, hold on to God and let Him work His will out for your life. Remember He is the potter, we are the clay.

Morning Coffee 10/30/14 I’m Just A Messenger! (Don’t Shoot Me!)

cropped-mc.png

“This message came to Jeremiah from the  lord  early in the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah,  king of Judah.  “This is what the  lord  says: Stand in the courtyard in front of the Temple of the  lord, and make an announcement to the people who have come there to worship from all over Judah. Give them my entire message; include every word.  Perhaps they will listen and turn from their evil ways. Then I will change my mind about the disaster I am ready to pour out on them because of their sins. “Say to them, ‘This is what the  lord  says: If you will not listen to me and obey my word I have given you,  and if you will not listen to my servants, the prophets—for I sent them again and again to warn you, but you would not listen to them— then I will destroy this Temple as I destroyed Shiloh, the place where the Tabernacle was located. And I will make Jerusalem an object of cursing in every nation on earth.’” The priests, the prophets, and all the people listened to Jeremiah as he spoke in front of the  lord ’s Temple.  But when Jeremiah had finished his message, saying everything the  lord  had told him to say, the priests and prophets and all the people at the Temple mobbed him. “Kill him!” they shouted.” (Jeremiah 26:1-8 NLT)

Good day Family! God gave Jeremiah a message to deliver to Judah. God was speaking through Jeremiah letting them know that if they did not turn from their rebellious ways that He (God) would bring disaster on them. Well the elders and people did not like what was said and wanted to kill Jeremiah.

Sometimes God will send someone to deliver a message to us. And we may not like the message that is being delivered. Our natural response may be to lash out at that person. But that is not what we should do, they are just a messenger. The message delivered may not be to our liking, but we must receive it. Why? Because It is for our good. It may be a warning for us to turn from the path we are going down and to come back to Him.

God will speak through people in our life. We need to listen and receive what is being said and not shoot the messenger. After all the words that are being spoke are for our benefit!

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 10/29/14 The God Element: Love!

Morning Coffee 10/29/14 The God Element: Love!

“If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it;  but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud  or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.  It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.  Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages  and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! (1 Corinthians 14:3-8 NLT)

Hello Family! We are finishing up the God element series. We know that God is Our ultimate source, we know that God is omniscient (all knowing). We know our God is omnipresent (present everywhere at the same time) We our God is Omnipotent (all powerful) But above all that our God is LOVE! “Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.  But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.  This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” (1 John 4:7-10 NLT)

Tell me when was the last time God reminded you of a past wrong you did? When has God told you I’m done with you, you are worthless! When was the last time God forced you to do what He wanted? When has He rejoiced in your pain? The answer is never! As I think back over my own life, I see the times only God was there to help, the times when I gave up on myself God was there to pick me up and push me forward. The times I sinned against him, even if it was a repeated sin. He never pointed a finger at me and said see, that’s what you get or I told you so! Yes, He bought His correction on me, but that correction was not condemning. That correction pushed me closer to Him! God is everything described in Corinthians 14:3-8.

If God did not love us, we would not be here, we would not experience the grace and mercy that has been and continues to be showered on us! If He did not love us He would not bring correction when we do wrong. We would not feel any conviction when we sinned. But since he dose Love us, we do feel His conviction when we do wrong, we do receive His correction that pushes us away from sin and closer to Him.

As Paul said in the opening scripture, he can give all he has to the poor and sacrifice his body if there is no love it will be for nothing. God sent His only son to be a sacrifice for our sins out of His Love for us. God brings correction out of his love for us! All that God does for us is based  from Love.

Now here is where you and I apply it! When someone offends you for the hundredth time, forgive them and don’t hold it over their head. Don’t get puffed up in yourself because you are not all that. Don’t give up on that lost friend or family member keep praying for them, keep showing them the love of God when you see them. Let’s do our best to act out of LOVE and not our flesh! If we don’t have LOVE, we don’t know God Because God is Love!

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 10/28/14 The God Element: Omnipotent!

cropped-mc.png

“On the day the  lord  gave the Israelites victory over the Amorites, Joshua prayed to the  lord  in front of all the people of Israel. He said,  “Let the sun stand still over Gibeon, and the moon over the valley of Aijalon.” So the sun stood still and the moon stayed in place until the nation of Israel had defeated its enemies. Is this event not recorded in  The Book of Jashar ? The sun stayed in the middle of the sky, and it did not set as on a normal day.    There has never been a day like this one before or since, when the  lord  answered such a prayer. Surely the  lord  fought for Israel that day! (Joshua 10:12-14 NLT)

Hello Family! We are continuing the God element series. We know that God is Our ultimate source, we know that God is omniscient (all knowing). We know our God is omnipresent (present everywhere at the same time) And finally our God is Omnipotent (all powerful)

There is nothing out of God’s control. In Job, when satan came from roaming the earth he had to get permission from God to do all that he did to Job. God put limits on what satan could do to Job. “The  Lord  said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.”  Then Satan went out from the presence of the  Lord .” (Job 1:12 NIV)

God is not just sitting back letting things happen at random. No! He has His hand on everything good and bad. Absolutely nothing is out of his power! He knows all, He is everywhere, and is all powerful! There is nothing that God does not see, nothing that surprises Him, nothing that He can’t control. He Is God Almighty!

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 10/27/14 The God Element: Omnipresent!

cropped-mc.png

“I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave,  you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night— but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.” (Psalm 139:7-12 NLT)

Hello Family! We are resuming the God element series. We know that God is Our ultimate source, we know that God is omniscient (all knowing). Our God is also omnipresent (present everywhere at the same time) As the psalm writer said we can never escape His presence.

God is in the room where you are right now, at the same time he is in my room right now as I write this devotion. Yes, He is on His throne in heaven, at the same time he is with us where ever we go! So when you are talking to God don’t feel as if He is a thousand miles away on some distant planet. He is always right there with you!

God transcends time! He is not confined to living one second at a time like we are. He is way beyond that, Right now He is in your tomorrow. God knew it even before the foundations of the world. We really can’t hide from God so why even try. There is nothing that escapes Him. He knows everything and He is everywhere at the same time. God is Awesome!

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 10/26/14 Don’t Knock It Till You Try It (The Hymns and older worship songs)

Morning Coffee 10/26/14 Don’t Knock It Till You Try It (The Hymns and older worship songs)

“Come, let us sing to the  lord ! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him.” (Psalms 95:1-2 NLT)

Good Morning! God has hit the pause button on our series the God element. During the past week I have been writing with instrumental hymns playing in the background. Two songs, a well known hymn and worship song spoke to my spirit during this time. A Piano version of As The Deer and a piano version of Amazing Grace.

I have heard and sung both many times since I was a child. But now that I have matured in Christ and gone through some storms, I truly understand them and what they truly mean. I am not knocking any of the awesome worship songs of today. But there is something about hearing the melody of As the deer (it is playing right now as I write this devotion)  being played on the piano and hearing the sweet lyrics that were ingrained in me since I was a child.

“As the deer panteth for the water So my soul longeth after Thee You alone are my heart’s desire And I long to worship You.” Wow! Awesome!  Then there is Amazing Grace! “Amazing grace! How sweet the sound, That saved a wretch; like me!
I once was lost, but now am found, Was blind, but now I see.” That song is two hundred plus years old and the words alone put me in such awe of God and how awesome He is!

At the bottom is Amazing Grace  instrumental. Play the song, but don’t listen to it as you normally would. Sit back don’t sing aloud  first let the music play and the lyrics come into your mind. Think of how far God has brought you, you don’t have to have a rags to riches story in order to appreciate this song and what it means. This song is about all of us! Hymns and older worship songs, don’t knock it till you try it!!!

Morning Coffee 10/25/14 The God Element: Omniscient He Knows It All

cropped-mc.png

“There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.” (Proverbs 14:12 NLT)

“Laughter can conceal a heavy heart, but when the laughter ends, the grief remains.” (Proverbs 14:13 NLT)

Good Morning Family! We are continuing the series the God Element, Sometimes we (my self included) forget that God is omniscient (knows it all!) We sometimes get all wrapped up in our own thinking process, we call on this brother or sister, we read this book and go to this conference to try to solve an issue that is way out of our hands. And only after we tried everything and we are exhausted, do we look up and say “ok God you take this!” As we discussed in the last devotion God is the only Resource that won’t run out and that will always have the solution to our problems. I’m not shooting down any close brother or sister you call on as a prayer partner, nor am I saying that self help books and conferences are bad. What I am saying is before we go into our own thought process go to God first with our issues, before we run all over trying this and that to solve the problem. Our thinking is not His thinking.

God also knows when we are trying to hide our pain. We try to cover it up with a smile and by joking around. But when we get home there is no laughter or smiles. Because we have taken off the façade. We cannot fool God, our laughter and smile do not hide the pain in our hearts, God sees it and knows every bit of it! He reaches out his hand to heal, but we pull away, trying to heal on our own! Why? Why hide from him, let Him comfort you! Let God speak to your broken heart, you can’t fix it! And it will only get worse by holding it back from God! He is omniscient (He knows it all!) So run to Him with your broken heart, run to Him with your sins that echo condemnation in your head. God does not condemn you, He wants to restore you! So stop trying to do it on your own And let him do it! He is omniscient (He knows It all)

Much Love & God Bless

Morning Coffee 10/24/14 The God Element: The Only Unlimited Recource

cropped-mc.png

“How sweet are your words to my taste,  sweeter than honey to my mouth!  I gain understanding from your precepts;  therefore I hate every wrong path.  Your word is a lamp for my feet,  a light on my path.  I have taken an oath and confirmed it,  that I will follow your righteous laws.” (Psalm 119:103-106 NIV)

Good Morning Family, God has us going into another series. This one is called the God Element. On the wall of my high school science class was a periodic table with all the elements known to man. We use most of theses elements as resources. There is one element and resource that has failed to be added to the table and that element is the God element. Without God none of us would exist  the elements and resources of this earth will run out but God will never end.  The writer of psalm 119 understood that God is the only unlimited resource.

Everything on this earth can and will fail. Gold and platinum will lose their luster even diamonds won’t last forever. But God’s word will stand forever. There is no problem or situation that God can’t get you through, the Bible God’s word will not cease to minister to you. We can gather all the great scholars of this world and study it for a thousand years and it will not stop revealing things to us!

God is unlimited, why would his word be limited. Our mortal minds are limited, it understands to a point. That’s why when God blows our mind; we can’t make sense of it! Some things are not meant for us to understand, we need to just trust God and know He has it all in his hands!

Follow God’s commands, go where he leads. “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33 NIV)

Much Love & God Bless
