Morning Coffee 8/24/14     The Beatitudes: Those Who Mourn

God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4 NLT)

Jesus is continuing His Sermon on the Mount, He now speaking about those who mourn. Once again Christ is not speaking to the physical but the spiritual. He is speaking about those who mourn because of there sins against God.

Matthew 5:4 branches off of verse three. We know our need for Christ. Now we see the bad choices we have made and it hurts think about them. But if we don’t cry out to God about theses sins we cannot be comforted. Once again pride can keep us from mourning. Christ cannot heal us if we do not pour out to Him. When we confess our sins to Christ, We are expressing our regret of those sins; our grief is being poured out. We know we have done wrong and our spirit desires to please God. When we pour out and cry out to God that is when He can come in and bring healing. And restore us, so we can in turn go and point other to Christ so they can receive the same comfort Christ gave us. God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4 NLT)

Do you have sins that need to be confessed? Go and cry out to God, empty yourself out to Him. And then let Him come in, restore you, heal, and comfort you!

Much Love & God Bless
